Terrible service at Saturday lunch and automatic 20% gratuity gives them no reason to improve. Staff clearly didn't care. Will not be going back.…

I love the Ballard Loft. Their beer list is great and the bar manager is always swapping kegs out for new things every week. You can always expect to see something new available alongside the Seattle beer staples. The food is always good too. I love the wings.I’m a fan of a rival to a Seattle sports team and the staff have alway been awesome to my friends and I when we come to watch games at the Loft. It’s our go-to bar. They always let us reserve space upstairs and whenever there’s a conflict they always let us know ahead of time.
Maybe when the Seahawks or on game day, there’s a different behind the bar staff … Terrible Service:Drinks (Guinness, how complicated is that) were okay. Bartender was vague, ignoring and as close to rude as one can get. Maybe things would be better for him back in his native Australia. Oddly cliquish and my friends and I are not normally obnoxious or demanding in any way.Visit but suggest that you do not sit at the bar; was not serviceable (responsive, for example) or welcoming.
Changed my opinion. … service has been unbearable lately. Very, very poor. I’ve walked out twice waiting for the waitress and it hasn’t even been busy. Until they get it sorted out I’ll be staying away.05 Apr, 2010I was really skeptical about this place. On first pass, looked like it’d been transplanted right out of a southern California cookie cutter mega-mall. Was almost sure it would be all frat flash and no substance. It is ALL substance and no frat. This place blew me away. It’s sports bar while still being uniquely Ballard. I’ve been there three times in the last three days. They beer batter their french fries, that’s brilliant. They’ve got a mostly generic draft selection, but they’ve got a couple beers I’ve never seen before mixed in. It’s hard to find a new beer on Ballard Ave (in a good way… everything’s covered). The fish and chips rocks. Great cod. Even their salads are good. The decor, menu, service… it’s all seemingly too good to be true at first glance and that almost kept me from trying it. But, after realizing that there’s substantial substance to back up their veneer I’m totally hooked. It doesn’t hurt that my office shares a wall with them… 30 second walk door-to-door. I’ll be there best customer.05 Apr, 2010Happily Astonished. I was really skeptical about this place. Best Sports Bar in Seattle. Great place to watch a game and have a few beers. Good service. Wait staff and bartenders are friendly and attentive even when they’re super-busy. The picture quality on the TVs is great.Only negative I have to mention is that the the food is nothing special for the price.
My home bar in Ballard. You won’t find a better pub in Ballard than the Loft. The food is excellent, the beer priced to drink, and the company excellent. I go for dinner, to watch the games, or sometimes just for a few games of buckhunter or shuffleboard. My favorite food selection is the BLTA salad with grilled chicken. If you don’t feel like eating healthy go for the Black & Tan onion rings or one of the other appetizers you’ll find nicely priced during happy hour.I think the owner, Charlie, ignored the popular notion that pub food is supposed to be greasy and gross–only edible when you’re drunk. This stuff is good and will be appetizing to the finest palates, even if you never raise your glass. But do raise your glass…if even to Gonzaga, the patron fanbase of the joint…and enjoy some old-school Olympia on tap or venture into some fine IPAs and northwest favorites. Don’t waste your time with a pint…grab a mug and then grab another. Rinse and repeat.
Are you lookin’ for GREAT food!. Been here a few time with friends and family. I really like the food and the service. I usually order the Rueben or the Sliders, both are NUM-EEE. The fries are always well done and you get a good amount of food for the money. TRY the deep fried pickles.. you will not be disappointed. One small critique..they could use a few more beers/ales to select from. Your selection is quite limited! I like dark beers and sometimes the only selection is Guinness. Branch out guys. You serve Olympia beer! WHY?Also, I would never order one of your tube steak selections I think the are overpriced!
Football, beer and the best Sliders. Okay, I go here to watch Sunday football, but don’t hold that against this place. The beer selection in perfect, the staff is friendly and I look forward to seeing them, and the Sliders are THE BEST in Seattle…The Best! I really enjoy the menu with much goodness to choose from. I want all to visit, but don’t take my seat, or I will have to be selfish and write bad reviews to make folks get away from my hangout.
