On a cold Thanksgiving morning this was a warm and welcoming true Ballard experience. It was joy eating with the neighbors….and I am from Colorado in town for a few days.
I’ve only ever drank here, but it was an awesome experience. Love the history and the pics of old crab boats.
RUTLEDGE. Back in the late 40s like 47 48 49 50 it was just a smoke shop with a whole wall of pin ball machines at that time they would pay offyou could build up the odds and dependening how many nickles you put in. the people that ran it then where just graet i have thought of the times i had there with my freind ron ness it is really nice we would pick up milk bottle cash in buy nickles just to play the machines got to go i do have other stories but for good time i guess it would still be alrightcharlie
Old Time Ballard Bar. The bar walls are crammed with pictures of customers’ fishing boats hung over the past 40+ years. Experienced and friendly bartenders who have been working there from 4-30 years. Eclectic crowd ranging from commercial fishermen taking a break from gearing up, to neighborhood friends who’ve come in for years, to 20 and 30 somethings who come in at night and weekend a.m. for breakfast. A lot of fun.
A taste of Old Ballard. Miraculously untouched by any new money or youth, this cheap diner joint looks like your parent’s Ballard. Eat there while you still can!
