Not a bad place for a quick bite. I like Bastille for their eggs benedict, the Bastille burger and the Eggs En Cocotte. Nice place in Ballard Market, with helpful wait staff. Frankly not the fantastic place I was expecting, but not bad at all.

I don’t think it’s possible to have a bad meal at Bastille. I have been here for brunch (awesome, especially if you are popping in on Sunday when the Ballard Farmers Market is on), dinner ( again fabulous) or just drinks and bites. I love the vibe of the back bar just as much as I love the bright airiness of the front area, that Paris Metro clock is quite a showstopper! On this recent visit, we noshed on the chickpea fritters served with a nutty cauliflower Romesco and Dinah’s cheese- a lovely Brie served with baguette toast. A carafe of house white wine and all was well with the world. Their cocktails are super innovative too ( my favorite is the painted daisy) so do give those a try as well.
Bastille is my go to place!. Bastille is one of my go to restaurants for great ambiance and a lovely french inspired meal. My suggestion is to sit in the bar area for happy hour. They have an amazing French 75 cocktail and good prices for everything from mussels and frites to falafel. They have a mood for every season too with a nice greenhouse to for a breeze during the summer and a fireplace for a cozy winter cocktail. Bastille also has a tour of their rooftop garden that is worth your time or great for friends in from out of town. If the wait is too long at Bastille you can always go have a drink in their pub back bar too. Bastille is a great local dinner spot in Ballard.
