Excellent food, thought I’ve only been a few times and gotten the Cuban. Not skimpy on the portions, and a decent price for the area. I’d highly recommend it.
I ordered the chicken special of the evening and I cannot recall the name. It was half a chicken seasoned with adobo and either baked or roasted into fall off the bone, melt in your mouth deliciousness! The rice and beans (usually the star here) were the perfect compliment to the chicken. The tostones are ok, I prefer mine with a dash more salt and squeeze of lime instead of the sauce they serve. The plantains are simply delicious and I would eat an entire plate if it was in front of me! My mom already wants to return on her next visit to Seattle and jokingly asked me to bring the rice and beans to the airport next time I pick her up!

(FOR THE RECORD: I am server. I have been a server/bartender for 20+ years.) I take my job very seriously. When I go out to eat, to spend my hard earned money in the industry that I work in, I have a certain level of expectation and this place gets EPIC FAILURE status. I hope this review helps you avoid trowing your money away. Cheers!
Was looking forward to going, after hearing rave reviews from friends about the Redmond location. I grew up in New York, have Puerto Rican friends (who fed me well) as well as experienced in eating the food in New York, as well as a recent trip to San Juan.Service: Slow, was not a busy night, but it took a while to get waited on, and served.Prices: Too high for the portion size.Food:Empanadas – Pernil. Tiny, and not very flavorful filling. The sauces added the taste. I am used to Empanadas from Argentina and Chile, which are way better (IMHO).Chuletas (pork chops) – Fried, came with rice & beans, tostones and small salad. The pork chops were very thin, and had small pieces of bone that you could choke on. Were overdone, and not very tasty. Tostones were totally without flavor as were the rice and beans, which were also on the watery side.I have eaten this food before, and have been very impressed. I am only guessing that most customers drink a lot, and can’t tell that they food is bland.Won’t go back, for sure.
Love the rum drinks!. I love rum and any rum drink with a heavy handed pour that is sweet wins me over! I enjoy the caribbean crush (it will sneak up on you!) and the rumgria is also very much my jam! On the food front, the empandillas are very tasty, the maduros are a nice change of pace for happy hour and the bacalaitos were very tasty – we ended up ordering a second round of these! It does tend to get busy/full around happy hour!
