Monkey bridge is very cozy and has a relaxing peaceful atmosphere. The service is good and they have good vegetarian options like most Vietnamese restaurants. It is also very reasonably priced. I personally thought their pho broth was too sweet but otherwise very standard. I much prefer Bol to here but if you are in Ballard this is a good bet.

I love this place, and frequently come here. The food is often much better than the price would have you expect, and the pho has always been worth the price tag. The broth is amazing, and much better than I’ve found at any other pho restaurant. They can be inconsistent, though. I’m pretty much always happy with their Lemongrass Pork Rice Noodles, the Pork Baguette and the Beef Pho, but my last Modern Vietnamese Chicken salad was a bit lacking. Nine times out of ten, they’re great. Give them a try, and don’t dismiss them if you’ve had a lackluster experience. They’re seriously good – most of the time.

My friend and I went for dinner at Monkey Bridge in early June. We ordered the shrimp spring rolls with peanut sauce as an appetizer. This was the best part of the meal by far. I ordered the Vietnamese noodles and dumping soup. It was mediocre. The broth was tasty, as were the noodles, but the dumpling were falling apart, overly salty, and had the consistency of loosely packed meatballs. He had the curry chicken with mushrooms. Both the chicken and mushrooms were very tough. Overall, the restaurant would be difficult to recommend. Skip this one.
