The souvlaki is TO DIE FOR. So good!!! I give a 4.5 rating only because the atmosphere and location of the restaurant doesn’t match the greatness of the food. I’d rather get the food to go. It is a tiny bit pricey for souvlaki but it’s worth it. So yummy!

Good Food – Poor Service. Unfortunatly I’m giving this place up. The food is very good, but the kitchen is run horribly. Like others have stated, the place is dead when I come in to pickup carry-out. After multiple screw-ups (wrong entree, wrong sides, wrong salad), I called and spoke to Taki’s wife Kiki. Just like last time, she proceeded to tell me that she didn’t make the mistake while taking the order, it was the kitchen that messed up. I told her that she is the owner and it doesn’t matter who made the mistake. I wasn’t asking for credit or new food, but wanted to let her know that they are consistently making mistakes. I even said that I would order again in the future because the food was good. Her response was to try other places. She said they’ve been in business for 30 years, do catering, etc. Basically she told me that they do not need my business. Well they aren’t the only giro place in town.
For all the people that comment on the service being slow perhaps McDonalds is more your style. I do admit the service can take a bit of time but the service has always been very friendly. Usually it’s Takis wife that will be taking your order. I LOVE Takis. I like Taki, I like his family, and I LOVE the food! The Slovaki plate is the best. I recommend the Greek salad with it and make sure you don’t miss the roasted potatoes they are to die for.01 Oct, 2009I LOVE Takis. I like Taki, I like his family, and I LOVE the food! Takis is great! The souvlaki sandwiches are fantastic and the family who runs the restaurant are pleasant and no-nonsense. Make a reservation for Saturday night dinner and you’ll be treated to live Greek music (courtesy of Taki and his Mad Greeks band – Taki was a professional Greek musician before coming to the US and opening restaurants) and dancing. We love having Takis in the neighborhood and haven’t found another decent Greek restaurant that matches up. Support this family run restaurant!
Yeah it’s a little strange, but oh how good the dinner plates are. Pork souvlaki is fantastic.
Excellent food, godawful slow service. This is the only decent Greek restaurant I’ve found in Seattle. It’s very good, like Greek diners on the east coast. It has all the predictable items (souvlaki mania) but all done very well. But you’ve never seen a worse-run kitchen in your life. My *takeout order* took 50 minutes when the place was half-empty. Four people had to discuss every plate before it went out. But when the food finally showed up, it was great. It would be a fun place if you are going to spend the whole night there.
