The place is always full, and you have to wait for tables. But the food is tasty, flavoursome and the wait staff are exceptionally good. Excellent place for a breakfast. They have a large pitcher of mimosa which goes well with breakfast of their wide variety of eggs and waffles. The coffee is pretty good to round off a hearty breakfast.
Hi-life is in an old brick firehouse and has a great high ceiling wood beam interior. We have been wanting to go to their fried chicken supper forever and still haven’t made it but did finally make it for an early Sunday brunch. By 9:45 it was already almost full and we were seated at one of the last tables available. They have a large selection of pancakes and waffles as well as egg dishes and several seasonal specials. They made the Ballard scramble for me without eggs and added potatoes since I wasn’t feeling anything sweet. It had great flavors and I loved the crispy fried breakfast potatoes. My husband was a fan of his pork-loin / egg special. I would definitely go back soon!
