Small plates and beer that hit your hunger spot. On my last visit to The Noble Fir I finally tied some of their food. They don’t cook anything at Noble Fir but they do have a good selection of quality small plates that you can mix and match together to choose from. The small plates cost anywhere from $6 for one item up to $22 for seven items from the menu.Pate de Champagne-Pork pate with pepper. It came with a small side of pistachios with honey on them.St. Andre Triple cream cheese-Soft, creamy, cow cheese with a small side of lingonberries and cranberry.Spicy Bresaola beef shoulder-I didn’t think it was all that spicy but it was tasty. It was served with dijon and stone ground mustards.Baugette-A large portion of bread accompanies the small plates and they serve it in a camping cup.I washed it all down with a nice pint of ESB but the maker of the ales name escapes me at this moment. They have a nice, eclectic, selection of beers on tap and in bottles and fine selection of local wine. They also have brewery and winery tasting events. The menu changes often so these items probably won’t be on the menu when you go here. One of the features I find interesting about this place is that they have a little library of hiking books and maps.FYI…Parking is a REAL challenge on Sundays because of the Ballard Farmers Street Market going on from 10 a.m. until 4p.m.(Pictures are posted of this meal as is a sample of the menu from my visit)29 Feb, 2012Yes!. Stopped in here for a couple of beers and the service and the beer were excellent! Have not tried the food yet but I will report back w/ details at a later date.Menu looked interesting though!
