Cool interior tile, high ceilings and modest decorations was relaxing. Service was excellent. Chips were freshly fried or baked and salsa had a nice smoky pepper flavor. Margarita tasted like a commercial mix w/ imperceptable tequila. Thought they gave me a virgin because I’m a total lightweight w/ hard stuff and never felt a thing. Entree was meh because pork and corn tortilla were both dried out and tough. Rice and beans were standard. Hard to mess those up. This seems like a great place for fast, friendly, Americanized Mexican, large groups, and or families. I’d go back just for the cool, airy interior.
My experience at Azteca in Bellevue, WA was absolutely horrible. The food was disgusting slop with old ingredients, it was soggy, some appeared to be from cans or the freezer. I tasted the food taking one bite of each item only and told my waiter I didn’t like it and didn’t want it. She got the chef and I told him the same. He became visibly angry and said I had to pay for it anyway, because I ordered it. I refused and he threatened to call the police. At this point I just left. Avoid like the plague and you just may avoid the plague.
Gone down hill. Have gone to many of the Azteca restaurants over the years, like about 20 years. Have seen them go down hill. Very sad as I really loved them. Had diner at the Bellevue one two days ago, and I will not go back. Biggest complaint is the food. Had a Taco Salad and it was so bad. Husband’s meal was bad also. Little cheese, almost nonexistent, stale tortilla bowl, basically a bowl of lettuce with a few things throw on top.
Very very poor service. Waitress walks past you 5 times before she acknowledges you. An hour to get our food
First few visits were amazing. Good food, amazing service, great experience. Then, one fateful visit, 2 hour wait to order food NOT AT PEAK HOURS, food arrived COLD(fajita skillet room temp), after speaking with manager replacement fajita arrived WITHOUT meat. Will never go back.
Holy crap I’ve never seen bigger portions in my entire life. I came very hungry and ate about a quarter of my food. The chile rellenos were amaaaazing as were their chimichangas. The pollo mazatlan was not good though. So much food for so little money. Would recommend.
Meh. Not the best Mexican food out there, but i love their Mole. The chile Reano’s are usually dicey (either good, or super bad, there is no in between). Service has been increasingly worse the last few visits though. My Sangria had more juice and less alcohol. Still go there in a pinch though.
