Avoid at all costs unless you love rudeness. Bake’s Place is an overpriced eatery in downtown Bellevue. The owners are pretty much the rudest people I have ever had the displeasure of meeting. We have been to Bake’s Place a few times to hear bands and each time they have been ruder than before. The last straw was last week when they insulted me and treated my family extraordinarily badly. The service is also poor – I ordered a coffee for my husband (after being offered quite a few options) and when it wasn’t brought out after 20 minutes, I asked and was told I had never ordered it. This place really is the worst.
Bake’s is THE Place in Bellevue for Happy Hour.. Bake’s Place is a great place to go for happy hour after work. Great happy hours prices and selections, attentive staff and excellent ambiance. Get over to Bake’s for happy hour and take some of your friends!I’m also looking forward to date night at Bake’s: dinner and jazz.
DO NOT PATRONIZE…. I spent over $180 patronizing this place plus $40 for two tickets to the show. The owner rudely shushed me and my friend in a loud bar setting. He was extremely rude and condescending and positively ruined my evening with a friend I haven’t seen in almost a year. Go to Jazz Alley and have a better time. Do not patronize. Owner Craig Baker is incredibly rude and disrespectful to clients.
Great ambience!. Loved the music, we could listen and still hear each other talk! The food was good and the staff was so attentive and friendly. What a great spot and the outdoor patio looked fabulous with a fireplace and lots of heaters. You should really go!
Nice place/food could improve. First of all, it’s a great place to listen to jazz. We were there Friday night for the first time, and Groove for Thought was outstanding. It’s a comfortable place, and the service was good. Some of the food was good, some not so great. My dining partner had the grilled romaine salad and the petit filet mignon, and had no complaints other than that a few of the mushrooms were very rubbery and tasteless. I tasted my partner’s romaine, and I agree it was very good. The dressing on my butter lettuce salad was very tart- like lemon juice without any oil. I didn’t love it, but that may be just my personal taste. However, my salad also contained a piece of turquoise colored plastic, which was a little unnerving. My entree was the cornmeal dusted portabella. It was gorgeous, and it tasted OK, but it was lukewarm and the mushroom itself had been overcooked to the point that I needed a steak knife to cut it. We tried the cheesecake for dessert, and were very disappointed when it was served frozen solid. I hope these are all glitches that will be worked out, because other than the food complaints, we had a good time.
Bake’s Moved. Bake’s moved to from Providence Point to downtown Bellevue. they have gone from a little small intimate home setting to a trendy downtown Bellevue motif. They service has gone from clunky, fun to corporate sheik. I hope they dont continue too full of themselves. They must have gotten a new chef, the food has gone from adequate to spectacular. I will be back. I just hope the service gets its homey, friendly charm back.
The Music Jewel Of the Eastside. Bakes Place at Providence Point is fabulous! The jazz and other music is the best in the Puget Sound area, the acoustics are first rate, the show room is extremely comfortable and the food is fantastic. Catch Gretta Matassa, Trish Hattlie, Hans and Phil for a wonderful night of amazing jazz. Bakes Place is the Jazz Alley of the eastside.
