If you are craving for Parathas & Kulchas, head straight to Chaat House. Most of the stuff they serve are decent but Parathas are great. Don’t go looking for fine dining experience though.

There is a chill in the air, there is hot tea in your hands and you can smell delicious chhole, bhature and pakode in the air. This could be one of the famous Dhabas along along the way from Delhi to Chandigarh or it could be Chaat House.Home away from home! That line summarizes the feeling that Chaat House invokes in me. Great chaat, great chhole bhature, very nice flavors of the Indian Chinese food and the best vada pav that I have had outside Mumbai… and that is including multiple places where I have tried this childhood favorite in Indian cities. Every visit to Chaat house gets me excited and end of the trip leaves me yearning for coming back again. On our latest visit, we found the Raj Kachori to be not up to the mark, but the folks at Chaat House more than made up for the experience by not only humbly acknowledging the miss but absolutely insisting on we get a replacement delicacy.

I think the ratings here do not reflect what Chat House has to offer and specially to us .. who live far away .. in a place deprived of Indian street food :)So, it was a trip like we always do in a few months .. of roaming around here and there exploring a city and some time dedicated to Indian groceries shopping ..Surprisingly, we made 2 trips to the market complex in 2 days, to the grocery store adjacent to Chat House.. and both the times we dined here ..The first time .. a lot of things .. the second a few .. but got a few things parcelled for our friends in Spokane and a few sweets as well. Here is how -Samosa – loved them, I like to compare apples to apples, thus wouldn’t like my comparison to move to India and how great samosas are there and what not .. they were lovely in their capacity and presented as well.Mango Lassi – Lassi is a sweetened yogurt drink in India, mango flavour and it is Mango Lassi .. well it was nice as well :)The Gobhi Parantha – Must confess, I was impressed by the sheer size of it .. and then when it tasted quite good.. I became mighty impressed by the might of it .. :DThe noodles (veg) – Not as good as we had in Portland at a lump sum similar place but yeah not bad either.Chole Bhature – Chole = chickpeas .. Bhature = (health conscious please do not read) – deep fried bread of sorts .. had a bite and the chole were very good .. bhature just alright. The other thing which was so good was the besan laddoo (gram flour sweet), loves them and did she sing praises every time she had a bite .. couldn’t be more pleased with that :)No qualms about the service and all .. given how crowded it was ..All in all, we loved every bit of our time here and every bite of the food from here .. 4.5 stars nothing less

Had an order of the Gobi Manchurian (~$8): spicy cauliflower. Also had an order of the Fried Rice (~$8): spicy rice mixed with vegetables. Food was delicious, staff was bewildered (but nevertheless polite when confirming food preparation w.r.t. dietary restrictions), and the ambiance was shiny.

This is a great place for Indian chat snacks and Indian food. The quantity is huge. Parathas are of diameter of more than a 1 feet. One person may not be able to finish one whole paratha unless they were hungry for the last 2 days. Parking area is good and surroundings are beautiful.

Was at Seattle for a day trip and we got to this place why else? We had a pucca vegetarian with us. The cuisine is North Indian and so was the thali. The butter paneer was very tasty. All in all a very good experience.

I have been to Chaat house about 5-6 times in the since they opened. Definitely a refreshing addition for having some good north Indian chaat option in Bellevue. This is a vegetarian restaurant, and the best part is their menu – which is a mix of regular chaat items and some filling items like the parathas and thaalis. So depending on how hungry you are , there are options to pick up. Pav baaji has been so far best compared to the other chaat options we have in Bellevue area. They also provide sugar cane juice, wow this is the only place in Bellevue I have to go for getting sugar cane juice. Yet another sweet shop for buying Indian sweets and savories. If you are visiting here in the evening at a peak time like 7-8 pm expect some wait time, as it gets packed with lot of people. They have made a very refreshing ambiance with bright lights and colors with pretty active service, to ensure faster service time even when it is packed. Overall a place to visit again when my taste buds crave for some chat.
