Bland. We probably chose a bad day to come to Chace. Their grill was broken and they were offering a limited menu on a busy Sunday. Hence, the slow service can be forgiven, marginally. I say marginally because given the time we had to wait for the food, the food was not worth the wait. Nor is the price. It costed $10.50 for a few pieces of toast (normally comes with hash browns but because of the broken grill it wasn’t available), 2 eggs, and 1 measly German sausage. The price for it’s portion was a joke. We also ordered 3 thin pancakes and 2 eggs, and that costed $10.50 too. Will not come again.
As I continue to waste money on so-called breakfast joints in Seattle, I keep asking myself, ‘Where is the McDonald’s?’ That says all one needs to know, as Seattle would not know breakfast if it landed on the top of the Space Needle and announced it’s arrival. This place was in a great, cozy location and the diner was clean and staff very friendly. Really made you forget you are in one of the most rude cities in the United States. However, the pancakes, eggs and sausage were absolutely horrid. The eggs must have been the powdered kind and the pancakes tasted like some sort of dough rubber tire. The sausage, as with all other Seattle restaurants, was pitiful. No taste, flavor or hint that it might have come from a swine.I am done spending my coin in search of a breakfast place. If I am out, I will just grab some coffee and a doughnut and wait for lunch, or better yet, wait until I get to go home to Colorado!
It’s amazing how similar the pancakes here both look and taste like McDonalds….and that’s not a good thing. Chace is better off buying some Aunt Jemima down the block at QFC. Fail.
It’s a great place, my mom Emmy Tanska, was a waitress there when we were little, unfortunely she died 2 years ago, She loved to work there. I hope someone remember her, she was Great mom!!!!Always took good care of us, great person and a very hard worker!!! Great food, especially the strawberry waffles. Jacquelyn Curnutt
Yuck! Greasy, overrated food. Denny’s is a step up from this.
Quality meet diner style. Perfect diner style breakfast…but with quality! if you’re craving that perfect diner breakfast (to cure a hangover) – Chace’s has you covered!
