We went to this place for a team lunch. The idea of buffet system for lunch is pretty cool. The food was delicious. A little more variety in the options would have been great
If you are in Bellevue and looking for Indian cuisine then Spice Route should be your ultimate destination. I was missing Indian food and one of my Indian friend took me to this place and honestly it didnt disappoint. The interior is okays but food wont disappoint. We tried buffet lunch which has lots of starters from dosa , bhajji and tandoori chicken and few other indian starters. The show stopper was tandoori chicken which was juicy and yummy. Main course has good verity from paneer , chicken , chole and many other south indian items which taste really well. The show stopper was chole and chicken curry. There was biryani which I didnt like it much but rice and dal was good enough as a substitute. In dessert, Seera , Carrot halwa and gulab jamun but decent but show stopper was mango payasam. I highly recommend Spice Route for Indian cuisine. foodiexp.wordpress.com
This is an average place for having indian food as a buffet option. The dishes vary from dosas to paneer tikka masala.Desserts were not as per expected.Overall just an average place.
Never had a good dining experience. Buffet is more of a hit or miss. They have a huge choice of food.
The dosa is fantastic and there’s no lack of variety in the buffet. I like how the non vegetarian selections are on a separate station. Perfect for a large group as well.
One of the South Indian restaurant in Bellevue. The ambience is OK. Food is tasty and authentic in case you order South Indian food. But their menu contains food from other cuisine like North Indian and Chinese food, but they are not tasty enough. On my last visit I ordered Veg Samosa, Gobi Manchurian, Masala Papad and Veg Fried Rice. I did not like the taste of food except Samosa. Cost wise its’ reasonable! basantsekhani.wordpress.com
Outstanding!!. I travel extensively and have taken opportunities to eat in Indian restaurants all over the United States, Europe, and South America with Spice Route, by far, having the best lunch buffet I have ever had the pleasure to experience. It was a delight to the senses, including the colors, textures, scents, and especially, the taste of the many finely-prepared dishes offered. And, unlike most buffets, the food was hot (temperature-wise, NOT spice-wise). In my opinion, a way to judge whether an ethnic restaurant is truly authentic and worth the investment of my time and money is to look for the number of patrons of that ethnicity eating there. In the case of Spice Route on the day my son and I had lunch there, there was a crowd of people with perhaps half being Caucasian, serving to confirm my theory. My only disappointment: I live in North Carolina and probably won’t have another opportunity to return for a very long time. Maybe the owner would consider opening a second restaurant on the East coast…?;-)
