The sushi was okay. Friendly greeters at the door. Waiter was helpful and nice. No real crab available which was a bummer. Tuna roll was fresh. Spicy tuna roll was mushy with an unpleasant sauce on top. Strawberry roll lacked flavor.
Some of the sushi didn’t look fresh. My Philadelphia rolls were very chewy. The service was okay. This place does get packed during lunch rush. The Sushi Maru in Northgate has more fresh sushi and better service. I don’t know what is up with the sushi restaurants in Bellevue, but to me they all suck.
90% good sushi, 10% absolutely disgusting sushi. We went on a thursday afternoon for lunch. The server was friendly and competent. Conveyor belt sushi with a reasonable selection. Taste was dependable with consistent quality. I’ve had worse I’ve also had better sushi – this was slightly better than average. Then I tried a sushi with seared fish – it had a disgusting overwhelming taste of fuel. After paying the bill I asked the waiter and he confirmed that I was indeed tasting fuel from the torch they use to sear the fish. He said something to the effect that:some people like that fuely taste and some don’t. I just happen to be in the latter category.Yes, I don’t like my food to taste and smell like jet fuel or butane or propane or high-octane gasoline (pick your fuel, I DO NOT like to taste it in my food).I would have rated it 3.5, but not after learning that fuel tasting food is within their spectrum of normal.I felt a 1.5 is too harsh because some of their sushi is reasonable.
Probably one of the best places to be in if you are a sushi lover. Bit disappointing when you have to wait too long for a specific dish. Otherwise, a must go place
The food train provides ample options. The miso soup is a good starter before one jumps into gulping down different sushi types. Loved the sesame balls, just the right sugar.
ATMOSPHERE: Conveyer belt selection and off the menu selections. Busy, but not over crowded – can carry private conversation.FOOD: Excellent! Personally my absolute favorite sushi place in the entire state of Washington! fair price for very high quality sushi and sashimi.SERVICE: Always friendly and attentive.PRICE: very fair pricing.
Prefab, conveyor sushi that’s popular nowadays. I like it, and prices aren’t crazy for Bellevue. There’s a cute doll that works reception most days, but doll literally, like 3 feet tall. You’ll see.
