Great food, slow service. I discovered this small sushi restaurant on a lunch break a couple of days ago and was pleasantly surprised. While the menu offers your typical teriyaki fare, Sushiya stands out for having the tastiest Katsudon I’ve ever had. In addition, their sushi is extremely fresh and was some of the best I’ve had outside of Tokyo. Although the large portions, delicious food and friendly staff earn them 5 stars, the restaurant is plagued with one significant flaw – extremely slow service. Although it’s worth it, be prepared for a length wait for everything from sushi to soda.
Lunch bento was good. If you are trying out a Japanese and/or sushi restaurant for the first time, I recommend starting with the bento. It offers good insight into what they are good at (plating, entree style, food quality/freshness, etc). My bento had teriyaki beef, cooked salmon, and salmon sashimi. All of these items were done very well; although I inhaled the sashimi too quickly. Both styles of salmon (raw and cooked) were very fresh. This restaurant is a definite keeper for lunch.
The Ton Katsu was not good neither was the Oyako Don. This was a poor experience for us.

Unexpectedly good. This is a simple, small Japanese restaurant that gets almost all of its traffic during the lunch hour.Everything I have tried there has been consistently good and a good value.It may get a bit lonely for dinnner. Hopefully when all the new condo folk move in next year or so – that will be less off an issue…
Tastes bad. Seriously it’s like someone took a crap in my food. Would not come here again.
Bad service. We went 30 min before they were to close and sat at sushi bar. They acted like they were aggrevated. Wouldn’t go back.Sushi was ok.
