  Amazing Sandwich’s. I had them for the first time Wednesday and I loved their mac and cheese philly steak sandwich. I thought I was getting just mac and cheese and wasn’t sure if it would be good when a sandwich was brought out. But it was so delicious that if I hadn’t been stuffed I would have had to eat another!! Also the price was great for how much food we got!

  Delish!. I was on my way to Trader Joe’s yesterday when I spotted these guys and immediately pulled over. I had an Original Philly with mushrooms (comes with onions and peppers), I chose provolone, and tried it with their aioli sauce in lieu of mayo. It was so good! I’ve had some good Phillies before, and I’ve had some boring dry ones. These guys have such good bread and are not short with the toppings. I will be back for sure and highly recommend everyone try it if they spot the truck. It was SO good!!!

  They Do Have Cheese Wiz If You Really Want It. The Hot Mess food truck serves up Philly Steak sandwiches with a fairly wide variety of options. Im not a traditionalist when it comes to Philly steaks (translation: I dont eat, wont eat, and think that anybody that does eat cheese wiz needs to get their head examined). However, Ill bite on a cheese steak concoction every now and then if the opportunity presents itself. Passing Hot Mess at 5:30PM presented just such an opportunity. I opted for the Viking Philly (with jalapenos, onions, green peppers, pepper jack cheese and chipotle aioli) and my wife got the Original Philly (with onions, green peppers and provolone cheese). We split an order of their four cheese mac & cheese. Both subs were quite good. If I had to fault them I would say that they were a bit too oily, but not excessively so. I really liked mine: tender meat and great flavors. However, the show stopper for me was the mac & cheese. Usually, these kinds of places serve up a watery, artificially colored glob of starch that tastes like something out of the low cal freezer section of your local grocery store. Not so at Hot Mess. It was very good with nice, complex flavors. They also have interesting looking coleslaw, clam chowder, and no doubt other items that rotate in and out. The best Philly Ive had in Bellingham was at Da Vincis Classic Subs, but theres more variety here (you can even get pineapple on them, although I dont know why anyone would want to do that). This is a good place for a Philly steak sandwich. And they do have cheese wiz if you really want it.
