Excellent food & service!. My husband and I ate here for the first time & we will definitly be going back! I love the environment, they are kid friendly and the food was fantastic. The gentlement that served us, I believe he was the owner, made us feel so welcome & even let us try some freshly made, right out of the wood fired brick oven, chocolate chip cookies 🙂 they were so good! Thanks for the great experience!
I want to support local businesses but for a gluten free pizza the cost was WAY too much for a very small pizza and it wasn’t very good either. We also tried their pulled pork at their new place and it was terrible. We will never go to either location again.
My favorite lunch place in Bellingham. I was truly shocked to see all the bad reviews on here. I have never tried the pizza, but everything else I have ever gotten here I have loved. Every time I work in Bellingham, I always come here for lunch because it’s a favorite. I’ve never had bad service OR bad food. Their BBQ pork, brisket, chicken wings and ribs are slow smoked for over 14 hours on a real outdoor competition smoker. Come on how can that not be delicious! I will often get a hot California Turkey sandwich which is to die for (the turkey is smoked too!) and of course the pulled pork sammy is great as that is what they’re known for. Also they do different chili’s on different days but I would urge you to try whatever their special of the day is, I’ve had their homemade chili several times and it is seriously so good. The beer menu looks great too but I’m only ever in there for lunch, so no beer for me! Like I said I’m shocked at the bad reviews, I think you should give this place a try and decide for yourself! It is great to support a local business like this instead of the big chains.
Lousy pizza. We were on our way to La Fiamma for our regular once a month pizza ( we have been coming down from Vancouver for 5 years now as their pizza is wonderful) When I was at Hardware sales I saw the satellite Jeckyl & Hyde across the street and when they told us the main restaurant had a smoker and brick oven we drove over to try it instead of going to La Fiamma. We decided to try Jeckyl & Hyde because they have their own smoker and wood fired brick oven- how can one go wrong eating at a place that has its own smoker and brick oven? Let me tell u how!!I had the BBQ sauce, pulled pork, red onion, and pineapple pizza but asked for them to hold the pineapple. There was so little pulled pork that it should have been called a red onion and BBQ sauce pizza with very little onion to boot. But to tell u the truth that wasnt the worst part of the pizza. the worst part was the crust, it was terrible!! Tasted like it was made from biscuit dough. My wife had the vegetarian and she liked the toppings but again the crust was awful!!The lesson for us is – if it aint broke dont fix it. We love La Fiamma and should have known better than to try to improve on their pizza. Lesson learned.I should add that I saw several folks with pulled pork sandwiches for less than half the cost of my pulled pork pizza and they had at least 5 times as much pork as i did although it is hard to say as i had so little pork i am not sure exactly how much I had, the sandwiches though did seem to have a good portion. If i ever went back i would have a sandwich – never again a pizza!I should finish by saying the service was fine and the staff very friendly but this was not enough to make up for the terrible pizza, especially the lousy crust, which is the most important part of any pizza any where.
Try the pork. You wont regret it
We’ll be back. Our car club decended en masse upon Jeckyl & Hyde Memorial Day weekend, following the Ski-to-Sea parade. Our orders were taken promptly, and while it did take a while to get served, the food was worth waiting for. I had the brisket sandwich, and oh, man, was it good! The owner was very nice. Loved the chalkboard tables!
