I ordered steak medium dine specified that i need soft and juicy, unfortunately i got well done near, but the servicer fixed it for me in a timely matter. Plus for inconvenience i hot I glass of wine on the house. I left satisfied, but will not mark the place as 5star, due to tue cook meat mistake.Enjoy your food#Maximilien#Maximilienrestaurant
I love the location and the French ambiance. When the weather is nice the deck outside is outstanding. The food is consistently good (and occasionally great) and the wait staff are attentive and considerate. There are certainly better French restaurants but this gets a 4 because the entire package is always fun.
A little odd that a restaurant inside the Pike Market with a beautiful waterfront view only has 2 or 3 seafood options available during a Sunday brunch. We were expecting to eat some fresh fish at the market, but all of the restaurants we checked had at least an hour wait and Maximilien offered immediate seating, so we grabbed a table, but without looking over their menu. I ordered a smoked salmon Benedict. It was two English muffins with smoked salmon and poached eggs covered in hollandaise sauce. One of my eggs was poached perfectly, the other was overcooked with small pieces of eggshell embedded inside the egg that I ended up having to spit out (gross). The salmon itself was just ok. The best part of the dish were the hash browns. If I had read the menu before being seated, I probably would have waited for a table elsewhere or walked downtown to try and find a proper seafood restaurant.
Wonderful outdoor dining on their deck! Classic French fare and a great way to spend an afternoon! Good wine list, usually good wines by the glass as well.
Excellent food, excellent service, and fantastic establishment! I highly recommend the mussels, and the fresh catch of the day, but everything there is a treat, and if you get the waiter with the lovely, twirled mustache, well, your day had just gotten better!
