There are very few items available at Tanaka San that are gluten-free. With that being said, when they do have a gluten-free dish, the presentation is beautiful and the fusion of flavors amazing!
This place was delicious when I visited the first year they opened. However, when we went for a friends’ birthday lunch this time, the menu was not what we expected. The ramen was gone which I thought was their highlight dish on the menu. The Loco Moco was gone as well. My friend who is vegetarian wasn’t too happy about his Spring Vegetable Hot Pot. When we all tried it, it tasted a bit too watered down and unfortunately was lacking in seasoning. That seemed to be the consensus from the table of the whole meal. For the twice fried wings, they were so monstrous which was fine, but the kimchi ketchup was at the very bottom of the bowl- which made it difficult to move the wings to get to. I will say the pork shoulder with rice and mac salad was pretty tasty. For the amount of food you receive, it was too pricey. The staff were very nice and attentive. While everything came out presented well, we were all left pretty unsatisfied.
