One Sunday evening post a get together in need for some actual food ended up at the closest Indian option in the neighbourhood. The joint wasn’t crowded and that ended up being a boon. It took a while for them to clean up the tables and get it arranged which I thought was weird as it didn’t look like they had a lot going on.Their menu is quite extensive and we settled on Chettinad Lamb gravies, Butter chicken, Andhra Dal, Malai Kofta , Naan’s , Phulka’s .The best offering of the night was the Chettinad Lamb curry. It was authentic and the spices were just right. The butter chicken was so-so. It had hints of being americanized . Thank god Chettinad curry is not very well known amongst non Indians for then it would get americanized. The Dal was very popular on the table , everyone seemed to nod in favor. The malai kofta was again so-so. They did better than a lot of restaurants but there were things missing and it wasn’t the exact deal. What I think deserves a mention is the fact that they had phulkas here. So refreshing. Eating out at an Indian restaurant usually equates to Naan .So the first batch of Phulkas were thick and a few of them were slightly undercooked. However, the second batch was good . So there is definitely inconsistency in the quality of the food. The total was $100.x which was reasonable for the amount that was devoured that night. They have the capacity to do better. From what I experienced I think they do better with south Indian. If you are in the area , this could be your bet at relatively good Indian food.
The staff were super friendly. Food taste was top notch. The guthi vankaya (brinjal) curry and wada made us feel home. Highly recommended for lunch or dinner buffet.
