I suggested that friends join me for lunch at Village Eatery, having eaten there previously with other companions. The music was unbearably LOUD and we asked the wait staff to lower the volume. She said she was not allowed to lower it. We asked that she contact the manager/owner and request that the sound be lowered. It was so loud that the waitress could not hear us when trying to take our order. To top it off, repeated requests for additional hot water for our tea went unserved, and we were overcharged the advertised amount for our lunches. The final blow: we were treated rudely as we left the shop. I was disappointed since I had suggested the destination to friends. I will not return.
Having high tea here is like living in a fairy tale. Three tiers of fruit and English treats with a pot of tea. My son loves the Cornish pastie and I love the cordials to drink. I have to caution you however, the prices are expensive. If you are ordering tea for two expect to pay $60. It’s a special treat and also gives encourage to learn how to make some of the goodies available there, especially the scones, shortbread and jam.
Great atmosphere, great food!. I love this tearoom. The owner is British and does the baking herself. Fabulous scones, pasties, and sausage rolls. Great selection of teas. They also have sandwiches, salads and soups. I took my daughter to their traditional high tea – we couldn’t finish everything and they kindly packed it up for us to take home. I’ve also had their Moroccan Chicken salad which was run as a special (they have different specials each week) and it was delicious. Service was fast and cheerful.Definitely a restaurant I will continue to patronize.
Bang for your Buck. I have taken afew guest with me to this tea room and boy have they been impressed. I just keep coming back for more and so do my friends.
A display case full of deliciousness. The Peach Tree Tea Room and Bakery is located in a cute little country village where plump and colorful roosters run free on the grounds. I’d suggest not going anywhere near them as you walk to your car should you not be able to resist tearing through your baked good first. Of the tropical bread (banana and pineapple) and the lemon scone, we liked the latter much better. It was still warm to the touch and more cake-like than your typical scone.
