Too many hand crafted cocktails to make a decision is the worst thing about this place. Whiskey flights, cocktails, comfortable seating, and a relaxing atmosphere…could use a ceiling fan for a nice breeze on warmer days…
Impressed by the artistry but…. I have yet to really love a drink that I’ve been served here. I do tend to like the sweeter cocktails and maybe my palate is not ‘refined’ enough for these artisan drinks. First time I was here I told the bartender that I’m usually a beer drinker and that I like sweeter cocktails but left it up to her to make something up. I watched as she took a fat sprig of rosemary, burned one end and dipped it in absinthe, then dropped it in to the glass, poured in more absinthe and something else – maybe gin? I’m not sure what else was put in there, but this was probably the strongest drink I’ve ever had and tasted very much like pure alcohol. I’m not a wimpy drinker and can hold my own, but this just didn’t taste good so I ended up giving my drink away to my boyfriend. Second time I was here, I had a pomegranate gin drink and this time – I could finish the drink but I wasn’t really impressed. Bummer, I wanted to really like this place.
Sushi, whiskey and wifi. I’ve been to Liberty a dozen times over the years. The sashimi and nigiri is fantastic and generous. I like to just order the chef’s choice at $10/$20/$30 depending on group size. They’ve always had great cocktails but over the years they’ve developed a solid whiskey selection, even Pappy. If you find yourself with a free morning, they open as a coffee shop around 7a and have free wifi. If you ask nicely the bartender will make you a French 75 regardless of the hour.
So so .. Good stocked bar average food
Love everything about this place. Definitely an industry leader. I heart Andrew
Unbelieveable sushi. Beyond fresh and wonderfully crafted Get the Chef Choice and let the man build you a surprise.
