Nice little place in a nice little town. Came to Dayton for an evening get away. Was disappointed there was not more going on in town but this cafe has a nice atmosphere. Was not very busy while we where there, service was fast. The food for dinner was a little on the high price but the lunch menu was reasonable and the food was very good. Great place to visit will come here again if going through this small town.
A most excellent Cafe. Weinhard’s is a wonderful experience! We througholy enjoyed the food and the owner. She came out and talked to us about the pros and cons of sending our daughter to private culinary school versus a community college school. Great atmosphere!
Foodguy. Love this place. Have taken several tour groups here and are always welcomed. The sandwiches, salads and soups are always fresh and the presentations are great. Always save room for the homemade desserts or take one home with you. Good selection of local wines too. Great atmosphere and wonderful folks to work with.
Hidden Treasure. The Weinhard Cafe in Dayton, WA is a hidden treasure of a restaurant. Boutique restaurant with classic comfort foods w/a twist, excellent house made desserts, and the blackberry cobbler is out of this universe!! I hope the Weinhard Cafe doesn’t ever change too much. Anyway, I discovered the Weinhard Cafe about 6 years ago and fell in love with it on the spot. It reminded me of 2 things I love very much: NOLA and my deceased Great Grandmother Elva O’Rugh, who was the most interesting single parent great grandmother, who was also a great cook. A long drive out to Dayton from Walla Walla, but if you can, drive in the setting sun and you’ll have a lovely drive out. (The hills around Waitsburg and Dayton are really beautiful, and so is the down town of each town. You’ll feel like you stepped back into the past by 50 years.)
