I do not recommend this place at all. Do not waste your time. You know something is wrong when you order take-out and no longer than 5 min later they come out with the food bagged up….um, sorry but I wanted my food ‘made to order’, not pre-cooked, frozen, then microwaved real fast. My food was bland and tasted freezer burnt. That’s the last time I waste my $ here!
1 star for being edible food0 stars for claiming to be a Mexican restaurant. Service was subpar at best. The place only had 2 or 3 couples in it, not busy at all on a tuesday night at 7:30 and service was slow. The food tasted frozen and reheated a few times, I’ve had better Mexican MRE’s in the Army! The attachd club they have out front is the heartbeat of this establishment. The patrons dance and drink till their tastebuds stop working and then go eat! It’s a perfect setup, overpriced beers and crappy food. Don’t waste your time or money!
Serviceable stuff. I won’t lie to you. This is not the greatest mexican food in the world but it is not the worst mexican food I have every had. Mazatlan is located in an old shopping center(plenty of parking by the way!). The awning out front needs replacing. There is a separate entrance to the bar and to the food service area. The bar area is all scuffed up and looks well used but the main restaurant is quite nice (and CLEAN!) with all the requisite mexican hacienda looking decor. Potted plants, ceramic figurines and the requsite Corona/BudLite signage out in the reception area.We were greeted at the door a bit indifferently by the hostess and taken to our table. The waitstaff service was EXCELLENT! Chips, salsa and water came right away and our order was taken quickly. The restaurant was about half full. The food arrived in less than 10 minutes of our ordering it and you get a good portion for the price on the lunch menu. I had the chili colorado burrito (spicy, tender beef wrapped in a tortilla. could have used a bit of sour cream with it) and my wife had the chicken chimichanga (came with sour cream and guacamole). Both meals came with the requisite rice and refried beans.I’d be this place is pretty hoppin’ around happy hour.I would give this place about 2.5 stars for the food and 5 stars for the service.
