I went to Sushiyama with a date because it was recommended to me by several friends, for having fresh, delicious sushi. The sushi was ok, wouldn’t say top notch, but the service was horrible. Granted, it was a Sunday night, but the restaurant is open till 9, and we were there by 7. The owner served us and made it clear from the beginning that he didn’t want us there, and just wanted to close. I informed him of his posted hours and he told me it wasn’t worth keeping the staff there. I finally just asked him if he wanted us to leave and he said yes! This was before 8:30. We also got a different appetizer from the one we ordered but didn’t bother saying anything about that because it probably wouldn’t have mattered anyway.
Service??. Went there 1.5 hours before closing. We ordered and 5 minutes later they came out and told us they didn’t have one entree. They gave us a menu to reorder but the waitress didn’t come back until they already served one of our entrees. When we reordered, the waitress said only several four entrees were available to order. $So, they didn’t have what we initially ordered, said they only had four entrees available when reordering, served us separately, neglected us throughout the meal (even though it wasn’t busy), and were completely unaware of their failings. I also asked for silverware and it was given to me 10 minutes into the meal. A lousy dinning experience. I won’t go back.
Full menu. Thankfully, the menu includes more than sushi. My dinner meal was prepared with great care, served professionally. The restaurant atmosphere is one of care and love.

What a treat !. First off let me say, I’ve eaten a lot of sushi and sashimi , It is a staple on the big island of Hawaii,where I lived for many years. My wife and i and a friend from out of town decided to give Baek Chun a try. Honestly, If you really know and love sushi and Asian food do not pass this place by.The server is great(and she knows menu), and the food is exceptional.
Ignore Darcillia55. She’s probably a jealous competing restaurant owner. This place is fantastic. The food is all delicious, and Charlie really knows how to make a wicked roll. Well chilled with fantastically fresh ingredients. Loved it. Probably the best sushi in Spokane, if not the best Japanese and Korean as well. I highly recommend it.
Scam artist. I have tried and tried to give this place a chance… The waitress is always rude and lazy. But today I hit a home run with the worst service I have ever recieved at ANY place I have ever dined at. I was craving just a plain old rainbow roll. I went in and marked it on the little sheet. So she came to the table and took the sheet. Then CHARLIE or whatever his name is asked if I liked spice. I told him yes I love spice and he said he could make the same thing but spicy and that everyone loved it! Thinking as common sence that if it was going to be more he or she would have told me. I got the sushi roll and it was nothing to brag about. But I ate it and asked for my bill. Then she brought it over and the total was $19.57. Just and FYI the rainbow roll is $12.95 marked on the menu. Making the sushi roll an 18 dollar roll! I don’t know about you but I have been to a ton of sushi places and it is RARE to see one priced for that much. RARE! THe lady of course tried to play stupid and Charlie went into the back and did not come out. What a coward! I will FOREVER tell everyone I know about how terrible this place is and I will never return. If you are brave enough to go back make sure you are checking the price and don’t let them bring you anything but what you ordered. This place is a joke. I tried to give them a zero in the rating.
