Love the atmosphere. The food was not my cup of tea but I’m not really a breakfast person…I’ll have to come back for dinner to give the place a fair shake. It was a bit disorganized and the service wasn’t stellar but it works somehow and the environment is so enchanting you can forgive a lot.
My wife and I had dinner at Chaps a couple months ago and we liked it so we decided to try breakfast this morning. The service at the counter was great, and the pastry and coffee we purchased was good. We ordered an omelet and scrambled eggs and bacon. We sat at the table for about 20 minutes waiting (restaurant was not busy at all). Finally a busboy came by and asked if everything was OK. We mentioned we had been waiting for our food and he ran back to the kitchen and magically it was ready. Both were almost cold (had obviously been sitting waiting for pickup) and we both noticed that the eggs and potatoes had an odd flavor. Our best guess is the oil they were using on the flat top was either old or something that imparted a lot of flavor. We wont come back for breakfast. Might try dinner and wine again – the atmosphere is great.
Cool details…sad service. Several months ago, we had a disappointing experience w/kitchen and service. That being said, we were pleased that the shift manager tried to do the right thing by asking us to give them another chance via a generous gift certificate. Tonite we decided to give them that chance-were disappointed again. Left the gift certificate on the table on our way out after a loooong wait for entrees without a server in sight. Appreciate the design details-if only the same attention to detail was applied to the restaurant operations.
A disappointment. Unique concept but service needs an overhaul. The kitchen cooks need to prepare what is ordered and not what is automatic and easy. 2 out of 3 omletes ordered with no cheese no onions came with cheese and onions!!! Say what? And the special order mocha was lukewarm at best, hot or ice cold but lukewarm-not good.
Great atmosphere but wasn’t impressed with food! We ordered a Meat Lovers for breakfast thinking it would have lots of meat as it was described on the menu! When we got out meal at first I wasn’t sure it they got us the right order, plate had potatoes, scrabbled eggs and 2 biscuits with gravy and I could not see ANY meat, eventually I did find few super tiny pieces of ham and few pieces of sausage! I paid $11 for it, will never order this meal again. Left disappointed

Went for a coffee date with a friend, we like to try new coffee places about once a month & this is by far my favorite! Awesome coffee, great lunch & beautiful environment! All the staff were extremely friendly! Loved it!
