Gorgeous Interior! Good food.. A friend treated me to lunch yesterday and I’m enchanted by the decor! They’ve gone all out to retain charm, and warmth. Real wood accoutrements and the ceilings are tdf! Theyve captured the feel of Italy…and the bathrooms are magnificent. I had to resist the urge to take snapshots! Service was very good, he attended us just right–not too much, not too little…although, he did not tell us his name. My friend had the sausage gnocchi, and I had the lasagna. Both were presented in an attractive manner, was ample in portion, and tasty. We split a dessert called the Godfather…a chocolate gooey sensation. Overall, it was a very nice lunch. I must say I appreciate the attentiveness to creating a warm dining atmosphere as most restaurants have drifted away from that.

Lived up to the accolades. We read about Italian Kitchen being spokane’s best restaurant and receiving all kinds of awards, even on a national level. But we were a little skeptical and initially thought it was too pricey. But we were pleasantly surprised to say the least. It definitely lived up to the hype. Amazing food and spot on service. From start to finish we were delighted with everything they brought to the table. Price simply wasn’t an issue, it was that good. Our only issue is that it’s unfortunate that you have to pay so much to park in downtown Spokane.

Not so Hot. The atmosphere is nice and the service is good. With that said… You pay way too much for a little amount of food. The food came out warm not hot. The mozzarella sticks we ordered had cooled and were not even melted by the time they landed at our table. My lasagna was TOUGH, DRY, and lacking sauce. I had to use a knife to cut it… signature dish… my left foot! My girlfriend ordered ravioli stuffed with Italian sausage, but there was no sausage inside… and for $22 she got 5 ravioli’s! Even the bread was crap…. You’d think at least the bread would be good at an Italian restaurant. Both my girlfriend and I wished we would have just gone to The Old Spaghetti Factory.

VERY DISAPOINTING. We visited the Italian Kitchen for the first time after reading such rave reviews online about this restaurant and left totally disappointed and wishing we had made the choice to return to the Spaghetti Factory instead. I ordered the scratch-made ravioli made with sausage and creamy gorgonzola, but my ravioli was missing the sausage and was stuffed only with ricotta cheese. It arrived at the table warm, not hot, it didnt appear to be fresh and for the price ($22.00 for the Grande size) there were only 5 raviolis. Unfortunately, my boyfriend had similar dissatisfaction with his scratch-made lasagna, the restaurants signature dish; it was a very small portion and also very expensive ($21.00 for the Grande size), he also complained that it was tough, dry and lacked sauce. The appetizer we ordered was fresh mozzarella sticks; hand-cut and made in house but I wouldnt say they were any better than frozen ones you can buy in the store. Overall the service was good, the food was not great, the price was absolutely ridiculous and the atmosphere/dcor was nice enough but quite loud on a Saturday night and nothing to brag about. If you are looking for good Italian food, I recommend that you continue looking elsewhere.
