No thanks Frank’s, just Jenny’s. I love this place, the food is good and the service is even better. Yes, it’s a funky, old diner, and a bit faded around the edges but I think it adds to the charm. I much prefer this place to it’s more famous neighbor. Jenny’s has better food, better service, and it’s way less crowded and noisy.

Great food but the place still needs help. I’ve eaten here a few times before and I truly love the food. It’s fairly priced and amply portioned plus the staff is quite friendly and attentive. I still fear however that the place is destined for failure. You may wonder why I would say such a thing but if you’ve been to the place you’d know. Please understand that this criticism is given with the most positive intent–I really do want this place to succeed but they are missing some fundamentals of operating a restaurant and they are as follows: Outside–the building could use some TLC. From a full paint job to seal coating the parking lot to simply knocking down the weeds and sweeping the walk. This first impression might be scaring potential customers to the train car down the street (which by the way is well cared for with probably little investment of time or capital). Inside the dcor is sparse and extremely outdated. I’m not sure that this has been updated since the Denny’s moved out a decade ago or more. It’s time to do a Robert Irvine type makeover on the place to bring it up to date. While the place is not filthy per se, it’s not overly clean and it’s showing its age. The worst part is the men’s room. It’s dark, dank, and scary–not only is it painted dark, the lighting is poor and I’m not sure how clean it really is. With a few fixes, this place could easily be doing the same or better business than the train car. I hope that the owners are conscientious enough to recognize this before it’s too late.29 Aug, 2013Decent Diner Fare. Stopped for a late breakfast today at Jenny’s. This is a place you’ve no doubt seen dozens of times but never stopped. The fare here is just what you’d expect from a breakfast and lunch place. Nothing really to distunguish itself but still good nonetheless. I was happy with the quality of the food and the quantity provided a fair value. Country Fried Steak was quite tasty. Service was fairly attentive but they probably could have used another server. There only appeared to be one waitress and one cook for the dozen or so tables. This left her quite busy and the coffee cup was empty longer than I would have liked but that is extremely minor. Waitress was quite friendly and seemed to stay busy buzzing to all her tables. They bill themselves as having the best hashbrowns in town. While I could not confirm this, these are definitely the most interesting I have seen. Instead of being a thinly shredded potato, resembling a spaghetti noodle, these were much wider, more like a linguini noodle. I don’t know if that affected the way they tasted or cooked it certainly is unique. I would probably rate them 8/10.

Like!. Jenny and Kelly are good attentive waitresses. We are regulars and are greeted with smiles and by name. Good variety of food and my daughter says the Reuben sandwiches are the best in town.

Meh…. Restaurant was clean, open and has huge windows. Breakfast runs about $7.50 to $10 which I think is a little much to be in the ‘cheap eats’ category. Service was professional and friendly, but quite slow. I thought the food was underwhelming. I asked for eggs over easy. But they were too ‘easy’ (the whites were still runny). The pancakes weren’t bad, but they weren’t good either. They tasted like a Krusteaz mix with a hint of stale oil and were a little heavy on the baking soda.

My boyfriend and I love this place! It’s solid diner food at very low prices. Generally between the two of us our bill is $15. But be sure to tip well, as Melissa the waitress is wonderful!

Food vs. atmosphere. Just ate there this weekend. Good food BUT a dirty place. We were given 2 plastic cups that had black marks on them and my husband’s had a white creamy smear on his cup. After we ate breakfast we got drinks at a gas station. Old silver wear, old chairs and booths. Just trashy and old. While the staff was nice and worked their butts off, sOme looked questionable.
