Will never return. My Thai wife and I went to Linnie’s for dinner Saturday night January 3, 2015. There were 3 tables occupied when we arrived. Linnie was quick to bring the water. The waitress was a little slow to arrive. We ordered Chicken Satay for an appetizer followed by Thai Basil Pork and Pad Thai. We asked for 5 stars, very spicy. I asked the waitress if she knew what Nam Pla Prik was. She said yes and later brought a trio of Thai condiments. One was Chili paste, one was Chili flakes and the third was vinegar with some mashed garlic in it. Nam Pla Prik is made from fresh lime juice, fish sauce and thin slices of Thai Birds Eye chilies. It’s very spicy hot. We never got any of it. After ordering, there was a long wait for the appetizer. Maybe 20 minutes or so. The Chicken Satay was small, overcooked and dry. The sauces were ok. The Basil Pork tasted like black licorice because of the American Basil that was in it. Not what I expected. Pretty bad. True Thai Basil Pork is made with Thai Hot Holy Basil, really yummy. The Pad Thai was undercooked and not at all spicy. Maybe 1 star if you’re lucky. I lived in Thailand for a long time and ate in tons of restaurants and on the streets there. In the North, Central and South. I know what real Thai food should taste like. My Thai wife also knows a little about real Thai food. She has lived here in America for 3 years. Linnie may be Thai but he doesn’t know how to cook good, authentic Thai food. We will never return there to be disappointed again. Here is a picture of a typical Thai dinner at our house in the South of Thailand.

One of my favorites!. I have been a regular customer for years, almost always for takeout orders. The service is always friendly and the food delicious. I am consistently pleased. I am not a Thai food connoisseur but I would highly recommend Linnie’s.

No Linnie in Sight…. Nor people of Thai descent, either? Food was strangely good, but it’s so different from other Thai places in town. Almost like if you were a good home chef, and you made Thai recipes in your own kitchen. It took a little bit of extra time to be served, but in most instances I consider that a sign of everything being made up fresh. They’re sensitive to heat levels, which is good for folks trying cuisines for the first time. Chicken with Crispy Noodle was their best dish we tried, but everything else was good as well. Prices might concern some folks, but their menu is set up to be family-style, so diners all get a clean plate with generous entrees–along with rice on the side–to mix and match everybody’s orders. Take home leftovers seem to be the norm. The building is the old Shack restaurant, and will never convey an Asian ambiance no matter what these folks try to do. That was no deal breaker. It was a good lunch…

I love the food! I been here several times over the last 10 years and it’s always constantly good food and service! I have tried a few things on the menu but always come back to the same favorite dish. I can never remember the name of it but I believe it’s the only dish with soy beans and flat egg noodles. Love this dish!!!

Spokane’s Secret Fave Thai. This is the best Thai food in town. It is family-owned and you can tell they really care about the quality of the food. Lots of options for vegetarians and gluten free folks, plus they have a cool lounge, too.

Unimpressed. I phoned in order, was told 15 minutes.. it took 35 minutes. Phad Thai was dry with an over abundance of peanuts.. Ordered at a 3 — very mild, barely any spice. The menu shows price at $10.00 – was charged $12.50, when I questioned it, I was pretty much shrugged at. Will not go back

Our new Favorite Thai in Spokane…. I’m not sure how we’ve managed to live in Spokane for two years and not try this place, but we will certainly be making up for lost time! We ordered take-out, but will definitely take friends back for drinks in the bar: lots of curved booths, funky/kitschy decor, and super friendly staff. We went with mussamun curry and the gaipahd peanut butter dish–both were incredible. The best curry we’ve had in the city. As someone with a gluten intolerance, I also appreciated that they offered a g-free menu online, and the hostess was very knowledgeable about food allergies and helpful with our order. Highly recommend!
