We have been here several times. The atmosphere is amazing. The food is great. The service is wonderful. We enjoyed the bangers & mash and corned beef cabage. I am so glad we found a great local hang out.
Classic Local Watering Hole. I agree with the diner from Melbourne: an Americanized Irish pub offering a limited range of solid fare, from which the lamb shank stands out. Bangers and mash is rather pedestrian, as is the shepherd’s pie. An order of fries is simply big: decent but nothing beyond size to distinguish it. Selections behind the bar are also limited — especially tap — offering little outside the ordinary. Does offer an outside cafe/dining area, but as you cannot smoke due or take a drink outside to do so due to city ordinances, not truly a cafe or pub experience, inside or out. Staff during the week is very friendly, as are the local regulars. Have not, however, found the same to be true on weekends, so would recommend visiting only during the week.A local downtown haunt with a long history, the sense of the place is that it now largely resides within that established past and the visits of loyal locals during the week. As large an interior space as it has to offer, largely unused on weekdays, with little going on during the evening hours to draw other than the group of older locals that appear to show up every afternoon and early evening during weekdays. A decided clique character presides. In certain respects too bad, as it is obvious so much more could be done if owner/management had the motivation…

I had the hooligan and hanigan-reuben it was delightful. Although it was a large portion it was heavy and the corn beef was so tender. If you get a chance definitely go…you will love it. Also the staff was beyond friendly and they knew their menu. O’Doherty’s is awesome…
Great fish and chips and beer selection. Atmosphere is very welcoming and sociable. Kids are allowed before 10pm.
Great Irish Pub n Food. The Butte pasties are pretty damn good for outside of Butte. The cornbeef is great as is the fish n chips. Always friendly, good enviroment.
