I wouldve rated this about 2 1/2, but out of four of us, two really like their meals. My wife had the white bean stew, and our friends wife had the pork belly. They were very pleased. Both husbands had pasta, and while they were decent, they were skimpy portions.Heres where it gets bizarre. The menus and water got to the table promptly. Then it was time to order drinks. I made the mistake of asking a question about the dinner menu in the midst of the drink order. The server replied Im not sure, Ill need to go ask. I immediately felt bad, as nobody was able to get in their drink order prior to her leaving the table. But, we did figure she would be back promptly. It did appear that she was speaking to someone in the kitchen, then she set about making up place-settings (rolling silverware in to napkins). Im normally the type to say something, but we were kind of in the mood to see how this would play out. She continued making place-settings, then proceeded to start serving other tables. She took others drink orders, and returned with drinks. Mind you, we never got the information that I asked for, and she never actually appeared at our table again. We made a solemn vow not to ask another question for the entire evening, as we were unaware that this could disqualify you from further service. We also made sure that we would have our entire order ready at the off chance that somebody would appear at our table again. After a legitimate 10 minutes, someone that we believe to be the owner came to the table and said I understand we have some questions? To which I replied NO!! NO QUESTIONS!!! We would like to order! (Luckily Google was there to provide the necessary answers. Remind me to tip them!) Order placed, and it wasnt too long before I got my dinner. Mind you, I was the only one that got my dinner. Another plate came, but it was the addition to my dinner. Of course everyone encouraged me to eat, as we had no idea when anything else was coming. We just referred to it as dinner in stages. Next was our friends wife, then my wife…at about two minute increments. Sadly, our friends husband was last. Bummer, as it was his birthday. Again, decent food. But an establishment really has to overextended itself not to get a 20% tip from me. They really have to try. This is one of the rare occasions in which they succeeded. Determined that we had had enough entertainment for the night, we had dessert elsewhere.
This was a great experience. First of all, this restaurant is open late for Spokane. We arrive around 9:00 pm and were not the last ones to arrive. The food theme for the week was Cajun. Delicious everything. Our group of three shared 8 total plates. Fun plates like crawfish etouffe, dirty rice, jambalaya, boudin, etc. The boubon bread pudding was crazy good. Can’t wait to return.
This place is great. It was about a mile walk from where I am staying and absolutely worth it. Very small very quaint. Awesome wait staff and everything I ate and drank was delicious. When a menu starts with whiskey they cut me to the core.
Can’t have more than one beer!. I recently was in Ruins with some friends having a nice dinner. I enjoy a good IPA and they had this tripple IPA on tap. The waitress informed me that is was 10% alcohol content, but what she did not say was they only serve on per customer. Really?!?!?!?!? You can have more than one mixed drink and more than one of their porter beers but no more than one beer of the IPA! if you are going to make a limit on beers maybe you shouldn’t serve them? The food was fine, but a $6 salad with a fancy dressing I was not impressed with. The service was great! But unless someone is alone or out of control I believe having more than one beer wouldn’t hurt anyone.
Almost didn’t go in because of the outside ambiance. Walking in was a pleasant surprise. Eclectic menu and unique staff. So… Ordered drinks and were a bit trepidatious. Food came and OMG. !!!! New favorite. Watch out. Won’t be long before you need reservations. Our new hiidden gym.
