LOVE ‘EM…Best Thai in Spokane. We’ve dined at numerous Thai restaurants around Spokane and still feel this one has the VERY BEST Thai food. We generally take our orders to go but, dine in from time to time. Quality and quantity are exceptional. The staff are so friendly and helpful when we’re needing explanations or special requests.

Best Thai in town. My wife had previously worked at a Thai restaurant here in town. We tried many places and love the food here. The restaurant is clean and peaceful. Our kids love the pad Thai with no stars. If you don’t like this place you don’t know good Thai food. The flavors are amazing. If spice isn’t your thing then order no stars. You shouldn’t miss out on this great food because you prefer no heat in you food.
Not the best I’ve ever had… I’ve recently moved back to the area and was taken here for dinner the other night. I ordered the Pad Thai, being my favorite dish, with a 1* spice level. Now lets be honest here, when you go to a restaurant that offers custom spice levels, normally they don’t put any spice in at all. So ordering a safe 1 out of 5, 5 being the hottest, expectations of the dish being spicy is very low. Right? Wrong. Although the flavors were delicious, my mouth was on fire. I’m not the biggest fan of heat in my food, it makes it less enjoyable in my opinion. Thankfully I will know for nexus time to order a 0*. What did strike me as odd was the presentation. I’ve never seen Pad Thai in a dark brown sauce. It looked like worms in a pasty, dirty brown sauce mixture. Although the dish was good, minus all the spice, I’m not sure this place gets my thumbs up. I might have to come again to get a solid decision.
Consistently excellent. Thai on First has the same decor it had in the late 1990’s. Thankfully, another thing has stayed the same; it’s terrific food. It’s food has stayed consistently excellent for years. Spokane has a lot of bad Asian restaurants. There’s a strange phenomenon that happens to Asian restaurants in Spokane. An Asian restaurant will get a following and then systematically dumb down it’s menu and then go down hill in quality. I’ve seen it happen several times. Thankfully, it hasn’t happened at Thai on First. The service is good and friendly. It’s one of my favorite Thai restaurants.
Pretty Good. This place was pretty good overall. The atmosphere is kinda weird. Partially due to the space being huge with a lot of weird rooms off to the side that have couches and a tv (I dunno, just seemed weird and not very cozy to have half a restaurant with random sized/furnished rooms). They also had huge bamboo style umbrellas over the tables; it was a good look, but made dining at those tables very dark as the only lights in the place were being blocked by the umbrellas. Thankfully not pretentious or trying to be too hip, just a bit awkward. The food was solid. Nothing amazing. It’s my second favorite Thai I’ve had in the area, but is at least consistently good, just not the kind of place I crave again the next day/week. It’s not as good as my favorite place, Phonthip up on Francis, but when I don’t want to make the trek North, I have no qualms at all about Going to Thai on 1st.
Great Thai. My favorite Thai place in town, well anywhere really. Always hard to find a great one, but these guys are awesom. Chan and Nick are very friendly and have made me special dishes that were rocking. Once a week at least!
