Most likely the restaurant is owned by family members and the employees are all family members, which is why the service was bad. There were two waiters that were waiting on us, which was why they each came over and asked us if our orders were taken and how was everything. It was really annoying to have someone come over half a dozen times.One waiter was in particular rude because he acted impatient about us leaving, even though there was plenty of seating available. We were only there for about an hour. It was very awkward to be pushed out like that.The food was horrible!! It tasted like they have us the left overs they were going to give their dog, but then we arrived and so they handed it to us. The rice was dry and cold. The garlic Naan bread probably tasted good when it was fresh, but was soggy and cold. The lamb bhuna I had was cold and the meat tasted bland, like cat food. My friend didn’t like the chicken dish she had or the rice. I had Indian Masala tea and it tasted watered down.One waiter told us to go up front when we were ready to pay for our meal. We told that waiter that we were paying separately. Of course the other waiter wanted us to pay at the table and already had our check as one instead of seperate. When we walked over to pay at front (I didn’t trust they would seperate it correctly)the waiter acted very annoyed.I highly do not recommend this place. I feel cheated having to have payed for that meal. I’m never going back again.
Great food at the Great Taaj Indian Restaurant. This was our second time here and both times the food has been excellent. Very fresh and with nice spice. It is fast becoming our go to restaurant in Spokane
Just Amazing. This is not only the best Indian buffet in town, but also one of the best buffets in town period. Tandoori fish bites are my new favorite food. Yum
Pleased they reopened. I had not tried this place before they closed. I tried multiple times, but they had unpredictable hours and were always closed when I stopped by. I am so pleased they reopened. The decor isn’t great, the service is okay (friendly but a little inexperienced), but the food was absolutely fantastic! I loved it! I am vegetarian and I enjoyed a mango lassi, the vegetarian appetizer platter, and the punjabi bhaji with some garlic naan. I like a little spice to my food, but still a heat where I can enjoy eating it. The spice was the perfect level, the food was amazing. The samosas have chopped ingredients rather than ground, which I liked. Everything about the food was great, and the bill was surprisingly low as well. The food came out quickly as well.They might not be perfect, but if you want some good food, definitely give them a try. 🙂
Best Indian food in Spokane
This place was awful! It has recently switched owners, resturant was dirty, service was awful. Forgot part of our order, brought out one dish then took another 10 min before my partners dish was brought out. I can’t remember the last time I was so disappointed in a resturant.
Great buffet. I’m no expert on Indian food, but for a buffet, this is super flavorful and the service was outstanding.
