Food quality not what its used to be. Its been a good 7 years since i was here, and i ate here today. the quality of food really dropped, the mac and cheese i ate was watered down, it feels like there was not much cheese, maybe they added water or more milk. before it was much cheesier. the chips with cheese dip that i ate, the cheese was extremely watered down and the consistency feels like its soup. I wont come back again as im much better off buying better quality food elsewhere for a little more money.
You Know What You Are Getting. Heres the deal about Old Country Buffet (OCB), its predictable middle American food, cooked in large quantities and served buffet style .Yep, the green beans are canned. Sos the corn. Yep, the salad might be wilting. Yet, the selection on any given day is quite good. Typically, theres a roast beef, which is carved and placed onto your plate. There are some seafood options, some fried, some not. There will probably be ham, pork or turkey as well, and thats not counting the full salad bar, the full dessert bar, and bar full of side dishes.Nothing here is bad. Thing is, nothing here is good. Service, on the other hand, its a buffet and therefore self-serve. So, if you have a problem with the service, find the nearest mirror, stand in front of it and yell at your server. The other thing is that I dont mind it once in a while. OCB is never a destination restaurant of mine, but a compromise. Unless, I am really, really hungry and can actually make an all you can eat work for me. Those times are rare.
