Came here for a quick lunch. The lunch menu is simple and prices are very reasonable. We had the seafood with vegetables, and chicken with vegetables. We choose the hot and sour soup. The soup was just right, not sour not salty. The lunch dishes came out fairly quickly and were good.
Terrible corrupt Cumin Lamb. Ordered the cumin lamb. The thinly sliced lean pieced were 90 percent fatty and when I confronted the waiter who spoke to the chef, they lied. They said this is how they prepared this dish. What a load of crap. I have ordered this dish at Seven Star Pepper in Seattle, and Sichuan Palace in Bellevue, and even at Spiced many many times and the lamp was always thinly sliced and lean.Little did I know that the place was closed for health reasons back in September, 2009 and it needs to be inspected again.
It really is TRULY Chinese. A friend and I were going for pho next door to Spiced and it was so packed and smelled so good, we figured we would try it. The menu is serious Chinese food and alot of Americans would not be into it if they weren’t experimental. I happen to have asian roommates so I was used to seeing the food – but I dont necessarily like all of it. The waiter was also helpful and he knew we might have some issues with some of the more authentic choices. I went for #102 – which is lamb seasoned in cumin and I must say… it was THE BEST lamb I have ever had in my life. Now we are regulars to Spiced and I always get the lamb. I have tried the tea duck as well, and that was also pretty awesome. I have no idea how they do it, but their meat is always super tender and they serve family style portions to share for a very reasonable price ($12.95 for #102). The name is right on, as the food is very spicy, as well as very authentic – but i give it a 4 out of 5 as it is an excellent restaurant.
Name is fitting. If you love hot food, you will like this place.Im not the biggest fan of hot food, so i didnt care for the food. However, if you can look past the hotness the food is really good and i have taken multiple to this restraunt. On a side note eat in, you get way much more food.
Genuine is an understatement. If you like genuine Szechuan and northern spicy food, this is the place. Good portion too. They also have non-spicy dishes that are excellent. I tried their chicken/seafood with crispy rice. Unbelivably good. Their potstickers are the best I have tasted in metro Seattle.
Hot. Large portions on lunch menu. Ma Po Tofu was the hottest I’ve ever had. Loved it.
