Bring Your Appetite. Not very often does one find a restaurant that serves a huge breakfast for a reasonable price. Breakfast at Valerie’s is such a place. We went there on a busy Sunday morning. We were on a wait from the moment we walked in the door. The wait wasn’t horribly long (I know it grew to be much longer while we were eating). There were plenty of servers and bussers on the floor but things were still a tad on the slow side. If you’re in a rush, I’d suggest you go elsewhere. The food was standard American breakfast fare. I had biscuits and gravy. One reviewer commented the biscuits were too airy. Not so. They were good ole biscuits. The sausage gravy was thick and gooey and the sausage, a nice surprise, was actually one VERY LARGE patty instead of a silver dollar round on each biscuit half. Three eggs (over easy, and cooked properly) topped the plate. All that around $9.00. There was plenty to take home and split for two more light breakfasts.Coffee refills were abundant and just as well. It took longer to wait for the check than it did to wait for the table. Still, it was worth it in the long run. Oh, and it’s LOUD in there. I could hardly hear my family at the table walked away with a headache.
Good food, great price point. Huge portions. Not many diners like this left.
HUGE portions. Bring an appetite or a friend.
Terrible service. Moderate food
This is one of those places to go for a hearty breakfast. It’s not a fancy restaurant, so don’t go there expecting that. It’s a nice clean diner with good service. Having eaten both breakfast and lunch there, I’d say breakfast is where they shine, hence the name. The food is good and if you plan on going there bring a good appetite, your gonna need it as the portions are huge.
Huge portions, but the food isn’t great. I ordered the Benedict, the hollandaise tastes like it is from a mix. The hashbrowns are okay and the pancakes are giant…but they also taste like they are from a mix. Great prices, but they just didn’t deliver on taste.
Big portions , really good food!
