I love the white coffee cocomo. It’s just delicious! I white coffee beans gave more of a nutty flavor. No bitter or burnt taste of regular coffee beans. And the people are super friendly. It would only cost 10.00 for two people to go here. Not 25.00
Caffeine Junkie Out of Place at the Sugar Shack. Okay, I admit it! I am a Coffee (caffeine) addict, and I am powerless over the consumption of this delicious brown liquid that kicks on its own without the necessity for heavy fat Bovine products and copious amounts of sugar. This comes from lifelong self stimulating consumption and a continual close examination of my waistline in our full length mirror. Hot and exotic coffee is my constant, daily friend. Do these pants make me look fat?My sweetie needed another camera thingie from a nearby store, so being a person easily bored by such an establishment, I wandered across the street to the Dutch Brothers Coffee establishment for a bit of liquid libation. Walking up to the walk up window, I was initially struck by two things. First of all, I get my jolt from the coffee and not from the hardcore music blasting at me from the speaker overhead. Secondly, peering in the window, I was stunned by the number of sugarlaced bottles and creaming devices on their work counter. It appeared like an evil Willy Wonka laboratory producing high fat and high calorie items that we have been conditioned to love and crave. Sort of like the worst of Starbucks on steroids. The serving people were very friendly and quite trained in what they do. But I was there for the coffee…straightforward and only slightly altered by a splash of non-fat milk. Feh! One gulp and I was transported back to the old days of bad coffee poured from a machine, taking your coins and instilling a silent prayer that your cup would drop correctly and/or prior to filling. Slightly bitter and watery, something I would only tolerate while on guard duty on a cold night or upon being served by rescuers after being pulled back through the ice. Where was the coffee goodness? Bad batch or a sympton of a more pervasive problem? I do not know, nor do I feel compelled to revisit the issue. I tell my darling, who likes to doctor her coffee up with sweeteners, powders, and potions, that she is consuming a coffee flavored drink, not actually coffee. Those that like a similar sweet coffee type drink will not be dishonored or disappointed at Dutch Brothers Coffee. As for this aging coffee curmudgeon, I will suck up to the other major corporate coffee purveyor, go to the many other great coffee houses, or drag my old, heavy coffee thermos from storage when I hit the road.
Love. love. love. Great coffee and fantastic staff. I can’t say enough good things about them…
