Never again. Very small meal and I mean the smallest meal I have ever had. Prison inmates are fed better. The wait person seemed mad. Went here based on reviews. I really do not understand what people see in this place.

This is by far the BEST food in Vancouver, and the best Mediterranean food in the Portland area. Contrary to previous posts, the owners are friendly and hilarious. You feel like you’re family. I work in Vacouver, but live in California and eat here every visit. My wife lived in Israel for several years and has said that the Jerusalem Cafe is the best mediterranean food she has had outside of the middle east. Be sure you try this place it truly is great atmosphere and even better food!

I agree with the comment that the food is over priced. There is a better alternative in downtown portland. Nicholas restaurant!29 Apr, 2011Great food, but the owners are kind of pushy bordering on rude. The food is delicious though

Pass, sadly. Updated:I’ve eaten at the Jerusalem Cafe many times. My parents love it and in the past I’ve loved it. It’s always had the best baklava I’ve ever eaten. After eating there this past weekend though I might not come back. Our family ordered kafta kabob, chicken shwarma, beef shwarma and a lamb and beef special they had going. Everyones dish was bland. I personally tasted them all. I’ve always been a fan of their shwarma, but this time they let me down. It was cooked well, but seasoned poorly, as was all the food. The tabouleh we got with our meal had way-too-big chunks of cucumber in it, perhaps as a filler? I’ve never seen such big chunks of cucumber in tabouleh in my life. Sure some places put in some cucumber, but these were huge. The tabouleh also needed some more lemon and a little salt. Even the tabouleh, my favorite food on earth, was bland. We also ordered some hummus to go with our meal, as well as some labneh or laban or whatever they call their yogurt sauce there. Bland and bland. The hummus was missing a spice, though I’m not sure the name of it. And the hummus portion was so tiny! Jerusalem cafe I hope this was a one time thing, but I’m not sure if I’m coming back. I’ll update my review if so. I hope you guys get back on the track you used to be on. Stop worrying about expansion (I see you are up to 3 locations?) and get back to making great food plzplz! Oh yeah, and the prices got jacked too. $12 for shwarma is not hole-in-the-wall prices guys. That’s about $3-4 too much per plate I’d say. I expect top notch treatment when I drink water at lunch and my bill for 4 people still comes to $80. Sorry for the bad review but I know from experience you guys can do better!Previous review:This hole-in-the-wall spot has decent food. I usually get the Chicken Shwarma. Everything I have tried here is 3.5/5 stars with the exception of the Baklava. What ever you do, try the Baklava. I’ve never been disappointed here, and the Baklava sends you home smiling.

Not that great. Wasn’t the best middle eastern food I’ve had, their pitas didn’t seem fresh, or even made on spot. Over priced

Enter and relax-very nice gentle as well as soft music and great wall murals in subdued, earth tones. The food was delicious and healthy. I’ll be a return custer even though it’s quite a drive. Extremely fair prices, too.
