Really rather awesome, actually. When you see a cocktail list boasting a beverage by the name of ‘The Cup of Awesome’, you feel an overwhelming compunction to order it and for it to fail utterly (For the linguistically pedantic amongst us, for this cup to be truly ‘awesome’ it should possess the ability to inspire fear or reverence). Strangely, I found that I had quite forgotten this compunction after the first sip and had instead placed The Cup of Awesome upon a pedestal with some considerable reverence, although no fear. The Spanish coffee swiftly joined it and The Cat’s Meow was, well, also accurately named. Spicy tater tots and a pretzel worthy of the Bavarian ‘bretzel’ monika didn’t let the side down either. Get the barman to talk you through the absinthe apparatus and don’t neglect to carefully read ‘The Vibe’ section in the menu. A manifesto for libatious glory. Well done.

Amazing…. Totally unique place. Greg makes awesome and unique drinks and the food is great. make a reservation, as the seating is limited. we lucked out and got a seat at the bar which was perfect, but a total score. you need to ring the doorbell to get in as well. keep that in mind. i will definitley visit again!

Tiny and promising. The place is tiny, so you’d better be friendly with your neighbors. The cocktail menu is full of interesting info, the drinks themselves are good, and the bartender chatted with us as she worked. The food, though – the food! I can’t speak for the rest of the menu, but I placed second orders for the pretzel/rarebit and the lamb burgers. The lamb was perfectly cooked and the mango salsa was perfect; and the beery cheese sauce on warm poufy pretzel was addictive.I would love to see them go a little farther with the theme – period costumes for the employees would make it that much better – but that’s really all I have to complain about. Definitely worth it.

Cool place. Awesome food. The pretzel with cheese sauce was fantastic. Nice private room with curtain if you can get it.

Demanding silent respect since day one. Rightfully so.. Although their menu will change with the seasons, the pretzel and the mac and cheese are always a good choice. Perfect pub food, or should I say speakeasy food. Other than food, almost every specialty cocktail has been absurdly blissful. Got to hand it to bartender 3G!

Great little find!. I’ve been to the Knee High (which truly I believe they are called the Knee High Stocking Co and should be listed as such) twice now and thoroughly enjoyed myself each time. The first was just to check it out for a nightcap and a little food. We had the pretzel and rarebit – mm.. yummy cheesy sauce! The bartender was more than friendly and happy to make suggestions when we asked. I love the suspenders the server was wearing. The second time I went w/ another friend who’d never been. It was busier, the owner answered the door, introduced himself, got our names and got us a table w/in 5 or 10 min of waiting outside (It might end up being a little harder for them once colder temps hit Seattle in winter. I don’t know how people will do that..). We had a great server, again, happy to suggest drinks or make us other things if they had it, recommended their special mac n’ cheese which we ordered and it was fantastic. Just perfectly spicy too. We added the spiced nuts, which came heated up and the olives. Both were tasty. Shortly after we were seated, a 6 top of fratty Bellevue-ites were sat next to us. They were a bit rowdy at first and got all excited about ordering ‘shots’ of abscinthe, but I commend the server for being so patient w/ them and explaining everything thorougly. Great place! Will keep going back and recommending to friends.
