To be honest I never dined in this place, wanted to, but did not. However I have tasted their food & its yumm.I suggested to go here, at the same time wanted to try another place, so while 2 friends went here, I got to sample their takeaway. They took a chicken Com Chein a beautiful flavourful Fried Rice with peas, egg & grilled chicken, was excellent loved every morsel of the spoonful I stole from my friend.Next was a nicely spiced, chicken noodles, HU Tiew Xao, a type of Flat & wide Noodles with brown sauce, chicken & veggies. Very nicely seasoned, wonderfully cooked flat noodles & spicy chicken. After tasting these more than a couple of spoonfuls, I was tempted to share this experience, with a promise of going back trying their other beautiful offerings, soon.
Sesame Chicken at Tangerine Tree. We were meeting some out of town friends here for supper. Pretty much everyone either got pho or bowls of some kind to eat. I got the Sesame Chicken. The chicken was actually very good but portions are kind of skimpy. I was done before anyone else was by a long shot.Steve tried some of my chicken and enjoyed it and said that it was better than the bowl he was having which I only had a small sampling of.The waitress was pretty friendly at first but she was leaving before the place closed and kind of was trying to dismiss us as quick as she could. We wanted to order dessert and went ahead with the remaining waitress there. We got a fried banana with sticky rice which also was very good. When it came time to get our bills we asked early on to have three seperate bills but this element of information did not carry over between the two waitresses. It was not a huge problem when we got one bill but it was a bit confusing for those of us who are mathematically challenged. So in the end the experience here was hit and miss. Some things were good while others need some work.
I don’t like the pho here and the Banh mi is like $4.00 each…not very good either. These are the standard size banh mi that other places sell for $1.50…Lee’s Sandwiches in LA/OC doesn’t even cost that much and they are double the size…too many Vietnamese places to enjoy to come here again.
Vietnamese Sandwiches–great food, great price. In the multi-ethnic neighborhood of Capitol Hill, there are many amazing places to choose from…so head over to the QFC, take the escalator upstairs, and stop in at Tangerine Tree. Not only will their pho change your life, but they have six difference Vietnamese sandwiches to choose from, for the amazing price of $3.99. We ordered the Pork to share…and it was the perfect blend of daikon, cilantro, and savory meat.
Good Pho. This was the first time I had never tried Pho. So I can’t compare it but I can say it was very good and I have been back several times. Good service, clean, would recommend.
Surprised. We weren’t expecting much when we went here. The food was quite tasty, the service was good, the atmosphere was clean and decent, and the prices were good. what more could you need.
