Ive enjoyed about a half dozen meals at various Tom Douglas restaurants. This was without a doubt my favorite. I wish I could have sat there all night eating the tempura squash blossoms and fairy eggplant while drinking their martinis. Loved the beets and the ling cod was outstanding. Our waiter Daniel was great. Great job.

I will say this place was fun both times I went. The menu is small, and that might not be for everyone, but it is also nice to see some place concentrate so much on serving vegetables in a way that appeals to everyone. The Bar menu is strong, and quality of the food quite good.

High marks for friendly service and interesting items on the menu. They won’t tell you unless you ask, but most of the vegetable options can be made vegan.Low marks for the food. It sounds good, but just isn’t all that inspiring when it comes down to the taste. and it is dreadfully overpriced.

I can’t give the Carlile Room 4.5 points because I’ve only had one menu item and a glass of water. But here’s what I *can* say: The service was prompt, professional and perfectly personal. The decor is stunning. I could probably hang out at table 45 for a week – it’s that comfortable. My ancho-sliced pulled pork sandwich was like no other: succulent tender pork slathered in sweet ancho-molasses sauce – festooned with crispy onions, thinly-sliced jalapenos, cilantro and a mountain of other-worldly slaw. Fries were crispy and apparently laced with crack (because even after eating the gargantuan sandwich I couldn’t stop shoveling fries into my face) . Well done, folks. Well done!
