Small Tin Tables!. I wish my experience at The Tin Table went better than it did. We came to this place because it was in the same building for a show we were going to, Homo 4 the Holidays and I had this place bookmarked too. I had not eaten all day and was starving. These semi fancy places often have small portions or tapas sized dishes so I asked the server how big the menu item I was eying was. I wanted medium sized portions. She said it was on the lighter side but was entree sized. What I was eying was the Butternut Squash Gnocchi. So I went ahead and ordered it.I guess I don’t know what entree sized means or maybe the restaurant doesn’t. To me the portion was tapas bar sized. The Gnocchi was good. No doubt about that but there wasn’t enough of it! No sides, salads or soups came with this either so I couldn’t quite justify why this small entree cost $16.00.Steve got a Ravioli and a dessert. Yes. Both of those tasted good but were very small in portions as well and overpriced. I know Tin Table gets all of their ingredients locally and the place is fairly artisan in what it does but I still think it is way overpriced for what you get. After dining here I read other Yelp reviews and read the reviews that were in the form of a complaint. Some of the arguments also complained about the portions on their vegan options (which is what we had) but said their menu items that involved meat were much larger like their steak or hamburgers for example.I think Tin Table is best suited for drinks and maybe a snack however don’t expect to get a cheaper meal if a snack is all you are looking for.

Good…very good. Had the steak frites and my partner had the fish of the day – grilled idaho trout with creamy faro & green almonds. It was damn good. Everything was well seasoned and delicious. Loved the arugula salad with the frites…the steak was cooked beautifully and had a good buttery texture to it…the frites were delicious with the blue cheese butter and steak jus. My partner and I were both awed at the trout. It all came together exceptionally – the grilled flavor & crispy skin of the fish with the creamy (and well seasoned!) faro. Quite amazing. I was really happy with my first experience here and was surprised at the value. You really get a lot in quality, flavor, and portion for what you pay here.

Just had the prix fixe four course new year’s dinner. While the preparations and presentation were wonderful the size and intensity were severely lacking. That is until the fourth course. With a belly craving and lacking a normal proceeding three courses, we were given an overly rich and overly large fourth course. Nothing worse than a disproportionate prix fixe menu.

Dark, initmate, yet open. Went there for the first time the other night after a book reading at Elliott Bay Books. I love that there is a place like this next to the bookstore because it is the perfect place to go and have a post book reading reconnaissance meeting.I love the atmosphere. It is small, but very open, yet dark wood and brick and candles – so both open and somewhat intimate at the same time. The bar looked so nice, just decided to sit there.Interesting drink menu and nice beers on tap,Had a Chimay and the fish tacos. Delicious.
