Able to book online, plus check menu in advance, always helpful.Pleasant, comfortable seating in the busy restaurant, and courteous, helpful staff. The chosen starter was shared and very tasty.Mains were equally good, the lamb loin done to perfection, and the chicken nicely chargrilled. There was a generous cheese board offering, though the waiter apologised for his perhaps poor pronunciation of some! The chocolate mousse came with succulent marinated cherries. Yummy. The wine list was on the expensive side. To the restaurant’s credit, when the ordered wine was not available, an alternative was suggested, which was cheaper. A rarity.Well worth a visit, though not a budget option.
I had dinner there last evening. My dining friend and I both agreed that the food was consistently substandard. We both ordered the Tagliatelle and shared an order of Broccoli Rabe. While having a glass of wine, the waiter brought bread. It was not delicious to say the least and matched the flavor of the olive oil. The pasta dish, made with rabbit, lacked flavor, the sauce a bit watery and the pasta was overcooked and limp. The broccoli was tough, hard to cut and not at all enjoyable. After a thoroughly unenjoyable meal fare, although the conversation with my dining partner made up for the lack of dining displeasure, we decided to give desert a chance and took a bet on the chocolate mousse. It too was horrible and together we ate only a third of it. It more resembled a piece of cake than a mousse and the sugar in the desert was undissolved. We chose not to complain to the waiter, feeling we couldn’t trash review the entire meal and instead chose to use this platform.
Cosy place. Staff are friendly and the pasta is beautifully cooked. A bit dark inside, but that can add to the ambience. Good place for a business dinner.
Extremely unfriendly and rude servers. If you are not much aware of Italian cuisine, you are totally at a wrong place, even if you are there for a new experience. The menu has literally very less items and I must say everything was highly overpriced especially given the service they offer.
Lively bar with a friendly, talented bar tender. Tasty bar food. Nice atmosphere in restaurant with pleasant attentive staff. The soup was beautifully presented and delicious. The gnocchi were crispy – a little different from usual – with a distinct but not overpowering sweet potato taste. The smoked salmon ravioli were a little heavy on the smoke but still delicious. Unfortunately the halibut was overcooked and dry – a common mistake – but well presented and still flavorful. Prices seemed reasonable for a restaurant of this quality in downtown Seattle.
Great food, great place. My husband and I went here with some friend to celebrate our anniversary and a friend’s birthday. The place was packed and thus service was a bit slow. However, they were really great and gave us great service. The food was absolutely delicious. We had several appetizers and they were really, really, REALLY good. The sweet potato gnocchi is to die for! When one of our guests didn’t like what he ordered – because it was not what he expected – they changed his dish without asking questions and never charged us for it. (Of course, he just tried one bite and not tried to finish the whole thing as some people try to do before ordering something else!) When the manager learned that we were celebrating anniversary and birthday, he sent complimentary champagne glasses for us! They also gave us complimentary desserts for my husband and me and our friend who was celebrating his birthday. I had the guinea fowl and it was moist and delicious. My husband (and most everyone else!) had the pork shank and it was so tasty and rich that I could eat it every day! Another friend had the scallops and he enjoyed very much (I don’t eat seafood, so I cannot comment on that.) All in all, between the service, the food and the ambiance, it is a great place I would love to go back to very soon.
