Sushi. All you can eat sushi is pretty awesome, lots of varieties!
The food was alright, didn’t hate the place but didn’t like it either. The kind of place that i won’t ever crave, but will go if someone invites me.
Spent an hour here during Friday dinner… Couldn’t get more than 4 crab legs the whole time, because they meter it out a tiny bit at a time, then someone comes along and cleans it all out to boot. Boooo, not coming back.
It is a great buffet, but still not a replacement for Todai
Best Buffet I’ve been to yet. As far as buffets go, Makoto is the best value I know of. They cost higher than other Asian buffets around the area, but the extra $5-$6 per person is well worth it. There are over 25 kinds of sushi out at any given time, as well as various sashimi and snow crab legs at dinner. They also have a Mongolian Grill that features lamb, shrimp, beef strips, and more! It’s true that the sushi isn’t as good as some made-to-order restaurants, but that’s to be expected for a buffet. There is a sign up that claims you can request a special order from your server to give to the chef, but I don’t know if there’s an additional fee or not because the selection was good enough for me. There are many seafood dishes and orange chicken, fried rice, etc. The only thing that I would like them to change is to have a self-serve beverage counter. You have to wait for your server to come around for any kind of refill, and at night the place has become completely filled more than once when I was there. But the food is worth that small inconvenience. Makoto also gives a free meal on your birthday (With at least one paying customer of course). Few places will give an entire meal completely free anymore and my wife and i come here on both of our birthdays each year. I would recommend Makoto to anybody who likes seafood, and I will definitely be coming again.
Weekdays at lunch time is the BEST deal! Adults all you can eat for about $9. Thats a steal! Amazing sushi, and other choices for non-sushi lovers.
BEST Buffet in the PDX area. People , this is hands down the BEST buffet, Japanese or not in the Portland area . we (a party of 6) Drove down from Olympia. Just to enjoy some Awesome Sushi, on Saturday. The service was excellent , the hand rolled Sushi and fresh sliced Sashimi was the best i’ve tasted in many years . The price was average and on par with OCB but the grub was WAY superior all in all i give it a 9 out of 10 . only because the bathroom floor was a bit sticky .
