Home away from home. If you happen to stop into Cafe Lulu in the Greenlake neighborhood on any given Saturday morning, it might be a bit difficult to find a seat. That’s the unique culture that owner Karen Laurie has cultivated around her establishment over many years. It’s not just about the (very good) coffee, the (excellent) food choices, or the (always friendly and professional) service. It’s about community–something that most coffee shops strive to create, but instead you walk in to find yourself staring at a sea of single people staring at their laptops, headphones closing them off from human contact. Not as much with Cafe Lulu. The staff and regular customers–of which there are many–are truly a community. Never been? Stop in once or twice…you might get drawn into the Lulu community faster than you think.
Great place to escape crowds at other neighborhood coffee places!!
