My wife and I wanted a special meal and thought we would take a chance on Harissa. Our expectations were far exceeded. The atmosphere is intimate, the wait staff are professional and attentive. We were allowed to order our dinner while enjoying our appetizer. No pressure. They understand that salad comes before the meal! For appetizer we ordered Labneh (home made cream cheese with herbs and flat bread) that was delicate and refreshing. We ordered Lebanese salads which were excellent. The salad would stand alone with out dressing, and the dressing just kissed the salad. My wife ordered Kofta kabob (ground seasoned lamb) which was very flavorful without being sharp or salty, I ordered a straight out lamb kabob which was excellent too. All the flavors from each dish complement each other. For desert, baklava, light, sweet, nice touch of sesame. In closing, we were stunned by this treasure of a restaurant, and recommend it to anyone wanting a very high class Mediterranean meal.
Eating here is a MUST!. Get the lebna and pita its to die for. Wallies Lebanese salsa is also delish. Wine list is great if you like to try different varietals. Everything is so yummy never had a bad meal. Wallie the Owner/Chef is always there and always helpful! We have had almost everything on the menu and it is all really good. My husband favorite is the lamb skewers I like the beef, shrimp, and scallops. If you are thinking about going……. DO IT!!!! You will not be disappointed everyone I have taken there loves it!
Delicious food, thoughtfully served in generous portions. Interesting wine list, including some Lebanese wines, which I had never tried before. We both had the lamb platter, which I recommend. We also had something that was called a salad on the appetizer menu, but was more like a salsa that we spooned onto pieces of hot, buttery pita bread. Definitely one of the best restaurants in NE Seattle IMHO.
Great food in Ravenna.. Have eaten in restaurant for both lunch and dinner.with friends. Thoughtful cuisine, with special care to unique spice combinations. Every dish that we tried has been excellent. The chef/owner brings a special resolve to providing an excellent dining experience.
A highlight in the endless chain of restaurants at this location. As we walked to this place from our house this evening, my husband and I reminisced about the flavors of World Beat; then a fancy French Place whose name we couldn’t remember; then expensive-homey Hot Dish; and lately the Himalayan place with very nice owners and unfortunately mediocre food. In short, it’s been a downward slide since we moved into the neighborhood. But Harissa is a step back in the right direction. Food was good, prices not outlandish, service very friendly. We took our two small children and it was fine but I wouldn’t do it past seven o’clock.
What a wonderful surprise!!! I wandered into this place because a nearby restaurant was completely full. Being married to a Greek man I have tried them all. This is absolutely the best Mediterranean restaurant we have been to in the Pacific Northwest.
Harissa is great!. A friend and I went to this new (open less than 2 months) restaurant last night and, wow, were we impressed! Some of the best Middle Eastern food I’ve had outside the Middle East and definitely the best in the Seattle area. The interior is more attractive and interesting than the exterior, and care has obviously been taken to make the dining area comfortable and relaxing.Appetizers are $5 to $10, entrees $10 to $19.One note: the menu mentions pita bread, but the kitchen has a tandori-like oven, so what you are actually served is Indian na’an bread, which goes find with the various hummous-based dishes.Go, eat, you’ll like it.
