Krittika is a family friendly cozy thai restaurant a few blocks from Green Lake. They have a great fish tank that my 2 year old loves! Their food is a little on the expensive side compared to other Thai choices nearby. My husband thought their cashew chicken was some of the best he has ever had. The panang curry was good although it seemed to lack a bit of flavor.
Cute little Thai joint. I’ve dined at Krittika’s about 10 times during the last 12 years. The food is highly consistent. The menu and the prices almost never change. Krittika’s focuses on a higher quality Thai. It’s not quite Phuket Thai and certainly no Thai Tom, but it is better than your average Thai joint. Krittika’s works particularly well for take out. When you order for pick up they do a great job of taking your order down precisely, and it will be ready in 20 minutes or less.If you decide to dine in one of the small restaurant’s 8 or so booths you’ll discover great attentive service and a warm intimate atmosphere. There is a well kept salt water aquarium in the front and cute little lights running on wires overhead. The phad thai here is moderate. Their soups, swimming rama, and yellow curry are where they excel. Only about 25% of Thai places have a yellow curry dish, and the one at Krittika is wonderful. I prefer it with chicken over tofu. Something curious about yellow curry dishes is that they taste even better as left overs the next day. I have no idea why as this phenomenon is contrary to most other Thai meals. The Thai iced teas at Krittika seem better than other Thai places. If you’ve never had a Thai iced tea, and you like sweet drinks, you’ll probably love these. The milk and sugar in them help combat the spice in a hot meal.Krittika’s is a great place to have a third date. It’s cute, quaint, quiet, and rarely disappoints.
