The dish is a great breakfast/brunch/lunch spot near Green Lake. They have tons of vegetarian options — all of their egg dishes can be made with tofu instead of eggs. If you come on the weekends expect a wait after 9am. They do out coffee outside for people waiting. My favorite dish is the juevos rancheros made with tofu. They make great kids pancakes into different shapes. The service is nearly always spot on. Just your typical neighborhood diner with a slightly more intriguing menu. I will say some of the tofu dishes can be bland and one note and that their food is a tad overpriced. That my friends are my only complaints.

Super Breakfast!. If wishes were dishes we’d all be heading to The Dish… as soon as possible for breakfast. The Dish has a line out the door for a lazy Sunday breakfast, but my daughter and I snagged a spot at the counter instead of waiting out a table. I had the Corned Beef Hash and my daughter had a Benny. Both dishes exceeded my expectations and had me wanting to come back again – often. Great neighborhood vibe, but take note that the hours are fairly short… only open until 1:45 pm. So don’t sleep in too long or you’ll miss out! It’s worth setting an alarm for on a Sunday… ‘nuf said?

2nd Dish is Delish!. The Dish is a fixture in Fremont and their more recent outpost on the borders of Roosevelt/Tangletown is just as good. I had the old standby this morning–the Slacker Scramble—and it was absolutely fabulous. The mixture of flavors and texture was the perfect way to start the day. A real winner.

Bland and boring. Had the breakfast burrito and blueberry pancakes. black beans on the side of the burrito were tasteless and burrito was just just eggs and cheese with some tiny pieces of boiled green pepper. salsa was basic and not very flavorful. I have a big appetite, but left most of it untouched.blueberry pancakes were very basic with conventional syrup and butter. reminded me of Dennys pancakes from back when we were in high school, not what I would expect from a trendy breakfast spot. overall food experience was boring and not worth the long wait on a Sunday. Staff was nice though!
