Soooo cozy!. This place is ideal to come on a date because it’s so damn cozy what with all the wood and low ceilings. It’s ideal to come for a low-key business meeting because of the large, long tables. 18 beers on tap and good though pricey burger. If I lived close by, this would def be my watering hole 🙂
Really cool environment, gorgeous wood posts and paneling. Food was pretty good nothing to scream about but good experience all around.
Best Neighborhood Bar in Town. The Pub @ Third Place is my favorite local neighborhood bar in town. It is a low-key watering hole with a great selection of high-end beers on tap and a far better than average pub-menu in a really warm and inviting atmosphere. I don’t go to The Pub enough to be a regular but if I had the time it would be the one pub I would return to again and again. They have several good English/Irish beers on tap: Boddingtons, Guinness, etc. along with a selection of more good regional brews like Rouge. The bartenders know their beer well but maybe are not so well versed on the menu options. The food is better than first-rate pub-grub. Since Caf Vios moved in upstairs they share a kitchen and Vios is responsible for the menu downstairs. While there is a lot of menu overlap between Vios and the Pub you can order get things on the Pub menu, like a nice burger and fries, that are not on the menu upstairs, which is nice. The food, which is mostly Mediterranean fare (hummus, falafels, etc.), is very nicely done and worth a trip in itself. The feel of the pub is unique: warm and cozy with a low ceiling and large, single cut wood tables surrounded by wood paneling and bookshelves with games and cards. Third Place gets local young professionals, the occasional family, and some older neighborhood types along with the occasional UW students venturing a little farther a-field. My experience on several trips to Third Place is that the staff and bartenders offer great, attentive and friendly service. The overall atmosphere is a very mellow, inviting Seattle vibe. It is a friendly pub where many people sit sipping their beer while reading a book or playing cards or just hanging out. A real neighborhood gem!
