Gumbo & Brew. I’ll not give the whole-9-yard review, as others have covered the food well–and it is delicious. Being the sister restaurant of the Hilltop Ale House on Queen Anne, it shares its ambiance, food, good service…and reliable, spicy, filling and flavorful GUMBO! I love them both and look forward to trying the third of the trio in Columbia City.

Neighboorhood Pub & Grub. Fits the Neighboorhood nicely. Hubby had the Ruben, very good. Me, the fish tacos. Well done, but wasn’t a fan of the side salad that came with it. Too hot for my taste. I’m not a beer drinker, but if you’re into Microbrews you might check it out. They have a large selection, weekly specials and small batch tastings. Basic wine selection. Service is casual, but felt right for a local pub. Love the interior, they did a great job styling it like an english pub.

Red Reuben Sandwich. Boarshead brand lean corned beef, braised in Blackthorn hard cider, sliced and piled high on rye bread with our freshly made red pickled cabbage, melted swiss cheese and housemade thousand island dressing. The reuben is then grilled golden brown, baked in the oven and served hot.

Service at this place means you go talk to the bartender any time you need anything, because god knows he is not going to come to you. On a lighter note, every seasonal holiday is represented year around in decor!

Best Ruben I ever Had!. Stopped in here for lunch the Spring of 2008. I had the ruben sandwich. It was Excellent! The Gumbo isn’t bad either. The menu is not your normal Bar Food. I would descibe this place as High-class dining w/ a friendly neighborhood Pub atmosphere. I really need to bring my Mom here for the Ruben Sandwich, she would love it.

Excellent restaurant. If you haven’t been to the 74th street alehouse you are missing fabulous food and atmosphere! The rotate their menu on a weekly basis plus their usual standbys. I just love their salmon sandwich!
